Well, if things are to go by, then Bollywood is supposedly a shithole for new comers, and yet millions give up everything to have a shot there.
Pretty sure, he was detained and not just frisked. And surely there is a better way of checking than detaining every person named Shah Rukh Khan for hours and harassing them.
Not that different from arresting someone and killing them on the spot for just being black. They literally elected one of the most racist, prejudiced, misogynistic person as their President. I myself have seen an American staring and changing seats on bus because my friend who was wearing a Hijab came and sat next to her.
And yet I have met some of the most amazing people who are American.
So yes, I totally agree with you. Lets not generalize either Americans or Indians. This thread is about Aryan's case and supporting him. No need to bad mouth a whole nation because of a few bad apples putting him through tough times
Yes. Let's compare Bollywood to one whole country. Those guys know there is a ONE IN A GAZILLION CHANCE of making it. Half a million projected to illegally migrate to the U.S. this year will ALL most likely stay. And they want to stay.
Maybe you want to tell them not to move here because yeah, this is a racist and misogynistic place.
What you're saying has no semblance to reality.
Yeah, there might be a better way than to detain. But you know, 911. America will not risk it no matter who SRK is. If your name is Abu Bakr al Baghdadi also, you will get detained and questioned.
Re: Trump. India elected Modi. And once again, ask why those immigrants, including women, want to move to the U.S.
You cite a couple of incidents and generalize a country. How about if I cite a couple of lower caste murders and rapes ans generalize? And actually COUNT the percentages of black people being killed by racist cops in the U.S. as opposed to lower caste murders in India? Would that be all right? I wouldn't think so.
Generalizations are not OK, no matter who it is directed at.
FYI. I am American by nationality. I will proudly proclaim anywhere this is the best country on the planet. I am Indian by ethnicity and damned proud of it.

Oh God - the typical 9/11 reasoning.
Nevertheless, You clearly missed my point by a mile. My point was the same - generalisations are dangerous and incorrect and unfair. I clearly touched a nerve by generalising the negative aspects of your country. So you can image the feeling a lot of Indians here would be having when some posters here colour the whole nation bad because of this episode.

For the "American Dream." 😆
Jokes apart, we can't compare India with countries that are completely devastated and riddled with violence. Those people would go anywhere where they can survive, go to and feel safe. People migrate for different reasons. The experience may not be the same for everyone with different ethnicities, socio- economic background and lifestyle.
Let's not forget that many Indians mays settle abroad but they do miss their homeland and do come back. People have a social network, friends and family here. SRK is 55. I don't want his life uprooted at this age. He belongs here. ❤️
Another thing - in India too, it depends on where you live.
Whoever has targeted SRK has made a HUGE mistake. Sooner or later they will realise it.
Govt aati jaati rahegi, but SRK rules hearts. He is forever.
Guys let’s not bring politics and generalizing in it.
People in india have made SRK who he is today, one of the most recognizable Indian faces… and he in return has introduced Indian movies and culture all over the world… it’s only few people at the top who are running this campaign against him. So really let’s not just generalize entire countries…
people who use religion to get in power and instill hatred towards each other, make them fearful of their differences instead of celebrating the diversity, are the worst people…. Divide and rule has always worked…
Let’s not fight here…

Yeah 911. I lived in NYC then. I 100% support the efforts to prevent another one. And bud, no one will actually get it until they've seen people jump out of a burning tower. The city smelled like burned flesh for months after.
So try to cool the mockery if you can.
You didn't just pointing out negative aspects. You maligned the entire country on the basis of how many incidents? Which your were speaking out against when it came to India.
And I was speaking out against generalizing India, btw.

So we argue the same for the NCB right (God, I really did not want to do this)
Imagine the plight of those people and families who have suffered at the hands of drugs. So what if a few people have to be inconvenienced to fight the drugs menace. Drug addiction does kill more people per year than terrorism.
Once again though - my whole point was against generalisation of a country, be it US or India. Between all your seething anger on my posts and hypotheticals, you missed this completely
