That is precisely the stage to grant bail. Innocent until proven guilty.

The only things he should be arguing are flight risk, potential for recommission of crime, danger to the community and the possible corruption of witness. In reality he knows all are next to nil for these defendants.

No one's stopping his investigation. He can still call investigate or call them back in for questioning. It's been 11 days since the arrest, and 6 days since bail was sent to a different court and now they will have 6 more until the next court date. 17 days and of course it won't be enough for him even then As he said before he sees no urgency in any one getting bail. I'm sure he doesn't. It's why 67% of the Indian prison population is without bail waiting for a trial. Madness. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Sorry...I'm not able to think straight...I'm just crying... not out of sadness but out of the feeling of helplessness against evil (although I know that will change...) ...and...just now a glimpse of the sun giving a wink through the grey clouds...(here, in the village where I live in Germany)
