@-ReasonToSmile- naushad's wife ran away,she is not dead...now if she ran away because she fell in love or the reason is something else that has not been disclosed...but she probably fell in love with someone imo because why else would naushad have problems with fatima khala and the entire mirza family on a personal level?fatima khala's relationship with a married man probably reminds him of his own wife's betrayal...but why did you think meher was emotionless/why did her past come as a shock to you?In the first or second episode itself meher was shown tearing off pages of her diary and burning those and being all cynical about love...I think she had an affair with a married man too and that is why she was so against khala's relationship(the way she said "ek shaadi shuda aadmi ke saath rishta rakhne ka anjaam hota hai,these things have consequences)...we often hate or strongly dislike in others those things or vices or habits or whatever that we have in ourselves too...it is going to pose such problems for naushad meher's love story if my theory of meher being in a relationship with a married man turns out to be true😆...as naushad already has been through that and personally dislikes people who indulge in extra marital affairs and those who get involved with married people.

I don't follow YUDKBH regularly but yes they take too many liberties with the whole "it was the 90s so children getting beaten up was the norm"...perhaps hitting your kids or your nephews and nieces was acceptable but how can naina's father hit or push sameer repeatedly...that is what I was wondering about too
