I have read all the posts and comments. 👏Great discussion. Wish I could join when every one is online.
But asli duniya mein Thora time kam hain. 😆
See this is IPK 1. How easily we pick up these words like asli duniya or mami's some random dialogues. La calling mutton to laxmi or nk 's some stupid Hindi. Often at home I tell ppl agar inteqam ki aag bhujh jaye toh batti bandh karke so jao.😆
This relationship with fictional characters was so endearing. I couldn't understand any plot of season 3. Though I read your conversations about how a project is launched, how much trust must have worked between 4 lions n SP, I still wonder how this show went on air?
It was abnormal from the word go. And I am not talking about the weirdo costumes.
Who in this age waits for temple trust for last 16 years? Their daughters don't study. Female lead was described as a Sanskrit scholar who is now ready to seduce her childhood friend who is abusing her from the time they have met.

Talking about rapes and molestations , why is a prime time show talking about a childhood friendship as the biggest love story? What love blossoms between kids of 8 years? Is it not mentally unstable.
Human beings are the most complicated machines made by god. To stop any misdeeds by them cannot be achieved through a machine like CCTV at every corner of the world or even some other more improved jammers . A human mind is evil, so he will find a way to his prey and after the incident other human brains will work to stop that menace. So in a way or other these crimes will continue unless we change our mindset.
We MUST try to make our children human first and then educated. Education n literacy is not same. That's why our maximum people are literate not educated. They don't know to respect anyone.
I just read you discussing PINK movie. Last weekend at a party I heard couples making fun of " no means no" in dirtiest way possible. They are all literate and working at good places. What conclusion can we draw from this?
Rape, molestation, marital rape are very serious and sensitive issues. And it's on the rise. But if we don't insist on making good human beings then it's all will be chalta hain types.

We have well educated boys, who have immense respect for their moms, sisters and bhabhis and yet treat other women as shit. Some people are brought up in such a strict atmosphere that they end up breaking every rule, just to please their rebellious nature.

But the biggest and most common problem I have seen around me is the attitude of the parents who think SONS are bhagwan ki den and their BAHUS and BETIS are always the second priority. When they bring up their kids with such attitude, there is no way the kids will learn to respect women.

A personal experience: Back in 2013, my FIL's friend had come home for dinner. While they were about to leave, my MIL signaled us to take blessings from him. His ashirwad was 'ghar mein ladka aajaye'. Usually I don't get into arguments with strangers, but that day I could not take it and gave it back to him, much to the surprise of my in-laws. He listed 10 points as to why sons are better than daughters and how he thought his extremely successful physician daughter had failed as a wife since she chose to NOT dedicate her life for her husband and kids. These are well educated people of our society.

The documentary on Nirbhaya, which was probably banned by Indian Government was so hard hitting that it had taken me a week to get over it. More than the details about rape, it was the attitude of the rapists and the lawyers that had upset me.

My mom always tells me that our generation was the last one to grow up playing with friends, with basic amenities and joint families. While I don't agree with her on the join family point, I do get what she means by that. The generation that your kids are in is probably trickier. Do you feel the same?

IPK1:
Every weekend, I watch 5 episodes of IPK1. Clear story telling, subtle dialogues, 90% positive people and brilliant ensemble cast 👏 There is no way IPK3 can even come close to it.

I agree with you and bhavi. IPK was different. But then I was ok to see another story on same franchise. They can use the same background music, some characters n plot but what was served was an insult to the audience's intelligence. Am quoting a forum friend " hum itne bhi paglet nahin hain".
In fact I would have been more happy if barun chose a different character with different traits. He is an excellent actor. I have been following him from BHPH days.

On hindutva, it's a clear case of no home work. Even Allahabad was shown in very poor light.
