It was only after she consulted SRK dat her emotional feelings kinda got unlocked nd she let dem out. SRK even says dis that until she does not cry wholeheartedly she wouldn't be able to laugh wholeheartedly n also another very good point he made was abt being dictated abt ones feelings as children. All that was bang on n hit the nail on the head. But see all dis is again about emotions n not mental.

My point is dat since it was a snsitively made movie on a very prevelant, but not talked abt issue, dey shld hv been careful to use d correct term/ jargon.

Emotions are controlled by our state of mind. How we react to situations is based on our conditioning to circumstances and our mental state. The two are very interrelated. I think the problem with us is that lack of awareness makes us believe that emotional outbursts are somehow less serious than disorders, when the movie wants us to know that Kiara's reactions are because of her mental issues, without going into detail about it. Anxiety and depression are not topics that people freely discuss, and the reactions because of such issues are chalked up to "emotional disturbance" when the very cause of aforementioned emotional disturbance is a mental disorder.

Mere pyaare baccho, you guys are reading too much between the lines. Movie was more on commercial terms and didn't discuss the technicalities, rather it merely touched upon the fact that how the most normal circumstances can lead to several issues. It was not about a healthy relationship or true love but just about identifying one's inner self. I watched it in theater and enjoyed it quite a lot.

Bri my point is exactly dat. And no I dont agree with being emotionally scared during childhood is equivalent to suffering from mental disease. Though if dat scar is really traumatic den it could lead to mental illness maybe. Am not sure though. Whereas mental illness would mean brain damage.
Also in real life I know of a case similar to Kaira and other cases where coz of unhappy marriage between parents, they themselves r shy of commitment . So yes der can be emotional scarring, but dat does not mean mental illness or disease.

I think it'd be prudent that all discussions on mental health take place after gaining proper knowledge of the subject; this back and forth of mere assumptions without factual backing is moot.
P.S. Mental illness doesn't mean brain damage.

Brillz: You wrote exactly what I was going to. O h m y g o d.
Sach main meri beti ho. <3

K: w/o going into the depth now, mental illness/psychological disorders are a result of not only biological factors ("brain damage"- yes like head injuries or injuries during pregnancy before birth, but mostly chemical imbalances), but also environmental, social, psychological stressors (emotional trauma, types of abuse). Clinicians can diagnose a person with a disorder on the basis of individual/psychological factors without the biological factor present.
Quite long ago the approach was wrong, clinicians would alone use biological factor as a basis, remember ECT procedures? shudders, that stems from ignorance on the subject. But, today thank god the ignorance has been dispelled.

Ok for your satisfaction, let's say Kiara was not -psychologically healthy- and leave it at that.

So, I waited for a year to see Deepika on screen, and the song is what I get, what a waste. lol.
From 3 movies in 2015 to a shitty appearance in...can't even call it a song, or item song. no words.

Na I don't agree dat 'gaining proper knowledge' is necessary for it, but yup just lets leave it at this.

It's FCUKALL. I love DP's work mostly but this is BAD BAD choice. 2015 was so good. She nailed every role she did, so many nominations, so much praise and from that to this. What a fail.
Plus the move by that dancer of moving his hand SOOO close to her vag😳 IDEK how I feel about it. Even if it had some purpose, it isn't aesthetically shot to put that forward.
