Happy weekend.

Sorry Shwetha. It took me this long .actully I came by one day but I had to rush back to work, I couldn't even say Hi .

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday .it has no religious connotation. In 1600 when pilgrims came to US and settle here they wants to to thank native Americans so they invited them for meal to say thanks . They cooked what Indian liked . Since they US celebrates thanksgiving. It's fun holiday . No gift giving .family and friends come together and cook together.

My whole family was together, everyone took day off but I had to work ,. I couldn't take any time off not even one day . I came home for dinner only . Family had lots of fun . I heard stories .

When it comes to work, I haven't seen any work discrimination here. Whoever you are, work is work and it needs to done. You said north Indians are not well accepted here... But most of north Indians have migrated and rate of migration is very high from North to south due to opportunities here. Many are staying from years and working here even though they don't learn language. What I have seen complaining from them is not relating to work point of view but... living here... They wanted everyone to speak in Hindi. Also Hindi is not our national language and there are thousands of languages in our country which has it's own significance. If you wanted to be one among them, at least try to learn otherwise they will remain as guest forever And this can't be categorised as discrimination. There's no harm in learning something new even if you don't use it often.

I totally understand your point of view . I must write what I think about When in Roman phrase .time permitting, offcouse .
I grew up in family where discrimination was untouchable world . As you know I am from Mumbai . Born and brought up on Shivaji park " shivsena's adda . Bal thakare was lived across the playground from us . We saw the Man every day . My mother's father was Swatatra veer . Who served Kalapani ki saza for freedom . My mother was strong believer of " mera Hindustan " she never liked segregation or grouping . She was strong opposition for Shivsena and Bal thakare opponent . Up to this day I am surprised and don't know why Shivsena did not murder my mother .
So I cannot stand any Discrimination no mater what the reason is .some day I will tell you my sisters experience who manages one department in Hyderabad from US .

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do" means that when you are visiting a new place, follow local customs and act as people acting in that place. However, this proverb sometimes can be a really bad idea. When you are faced with a new tradition in a new place, you have to think before doing as the Romans do. In making this decision, three main considerations are important: etiquette consideration, practical consideration, and ethical consideration. First, etiquette considerations are little rules that are not worth to worry about like keeping both hands on the table -or otherwise in sight - as a sign of politeness when you are in Germany. Why? That is the rule. In this case, just follow the custom and roll on with your life. But when you are faced with a practical tradition such as the south Asian custom of eating with hands, think about how your act will affect you and people around and what is the fallout of your behavior? Your decision depends on the particular group of people you are socializing with. Finally, never follow customs that you find them ethically wrong. For example, if you religiously or healthily believe of not drinking alcohol, never drink it wherever you are and whoever serves it to you, even it might be rude or your hosts will get upset at your impoliteness. Though "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is a good proverb in few cases,: so "If you're trying your best to be polite, to take into consideration the feelings of those around you, while also sticking to your ethical principles, then no one who has manners themselves should fault you".

US is melting pot . We we people from all over the world . When Our Desi people come over it's imposible for them to follow American ways , American culture. . When people work in office , do their job no one expects them to change and behave like Americans. Which is remarkable. We should learn a lot from them .

Good to know your grand father is a freedom fighter di. I heard shivsena is strongest party in Mumbai. Once they sent all migrants to their natives... Those who are not Marathis... One movie has also come I think na... Regarding them...

Hugs for everyone! 🤗 🤗 🤗 🤗

Waited till I had recovered completely before coming round. Had I come earlier, I would have disappeared again. Back for good now.

All bones back in shape. Arms and legs back in action...back to normal now. Resuming work from Monday, so expecting a pile of pending stuff to greet me (even though I had gone for meetings with my arm in a cast).

I really missed this place! Not joking...

Shiv Sena equals goons. Nothing more, nothing less. india's biggest tragedy is that we have NO leaders with integrity and morals. The younger generation has absolutely no role models. Not in sportspersons, not politicians, not movie people, not writers, not anyone!
