Not just aartis...during Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri, some of these mandals and organisers have "talent competitions" for kids who belong to the slums (please excuse the language; no intention of sounding rude or demeaning). The whole event lasts about four hours and they do not start before 9 PM. And the entire thing, right from the announcements to whatever the kids are performing, happens on loudspeaker. Kids are screaming their songs into the mike and whoever is congratulating or praising the performer has to scream into the mike. It's annoying...to put it mildly.

Last year, someone complained to the police about the noise levels and there was such chaos! We (all flat owners in the gully) were accused of trampling on the small joys of little children and being the snooty rich and whatever not! Tiring and more annoying. Let's see what happens this year.

For so long, Coorg and Bandipur have been on my wish list...I just have not been able to make it! At least you go and enjoy!

My both sisters worked for PWC . They loved it . They make you work long hours and hard work . But they are fair .

My husband was in Japan for long time . Luckily he was boss and Japs worked under him so he was not affected. he hated the culture . He was not happy .

In brief . This was young lady with two kids , happily married .

She had car accident. Bad head on collision. She was driver , one of her kid was killed .

Her accident resulted in head trauma followed by memory loss .

For long time she did not recognise her family or parents ,

Long treatment and lot of hard work she recovered .

At that time I was very active in " memory impairment "research .

She was my patient ,.

I had invested lots of hours got to know her family and emotionally very close to her .

She was becoming very dependent on me and I had to cut ties .

she was not my patient so under US law I was not supposed to keep in touch .

She was funtioning well . I was getting Emails from her .

But her relationship with her husband never got better . He blamed her child's death ..

She wanted to have another child but she couldn't . She never recover from this .. I suspect she went in depression never seek for help and she ended her life .
