I feel like Darcy could have been a bit nicer, but what he did say about Elizabeth's standing was correct. He should have been more subtle in his approach, and coat the words in such a way so as to not hurt others. But I still love him

I think the problem with Darcy was he was very unresponsive in the initial stages...he also came out as quite rude on more occasions than one. So his sudden proposal seemed quite out of pace for Lizzie.
