That's what I think too. He's just a human, who commits lots of mistakes, out of impulse but unintentionally. But yeah, somewhere it seemed like his emotional side still pined for her affection, while his practical side knew it to be impossible. That's why he looks dejected every time she mentions Samrat or when he sees them hugging.

Even when he sets out to advise Samrat to stop doubting over him and Gunjan and be a good BF, he reveals his own feelings making more damage initially. But luckily, later this works in favour of SaJan reconciliation, as Samrat realises the true intentions of Neil and makes Gunjan understand the same, so that she doesn't leave the film. He does understand the importance of trust in a better way after Neil's confession, though quite late than when delivered.

That was after hearing Neil's confession, when the gang starts instigating him against Neil.

Hmmm... Okay. Let me tell my views. But before that let me clarify that I have no issues with the character Nupur or the actress who played it i.e Rati.

I loved Season 2 before Nupur's entry because of the intense scenes of SaJan, which was really captivating. Also Mayank and his attempts to implement Nupur's wishes by bringing together SaJan. One more thing I liked that how Mayank was trying to cherish Nupur's memories through this.

I liked how the trio were coping up with her death in different manners. Then came the Samrat wooing Gunjan track with Mayank's help.

That was followed by the play, which triggered Gunjan's dying feelings for Samrat to rise like flames again. She had started moving towards his direction. Even during the Look at me wala scene just after the play, she got a glimpse of what Samrat had become in those 3 years and so it was naturally her turn to start forgiving him and winning back his affection.

But no. Nupur's entry was to happen then only. Again Gunjan accused Samrat of trying to lessen his guilt through helping Mayank find Nupur.

Then, as she started believing that this Nupur might be her Di, she automatically starts talking with Samrat as if nothing happened.

Somewhere, they didn't show a proper realisation for Gunjan, where she would've forgiven Samrat only for what his circumstances were, not because Nupur is alive.

That's where I didn't like Season 2 though Career- BB track was good though under-utilised and made into a mockery/buffoonery instead. Same with the Popatlal and Dhingra tracks.

I repeat I don't have anything to say against Nupur.

Rather I would've liked it if they had brought Nupur back, which is only known to Mayank, who would then try to contact her by himself without informing others as he won't be too sure about her identity. This way both fandoms would've been pleased.

Also, this would have shown that there was a solid reason behind Gunjan's hatred towards Samrat. I didn't understand why would she hate him just because her Di died in an accident where he was only driving the car and nothing else. They didn't even show that why at all was she so bitter towards. For me, death of Nupur is not a valid reason.

Well s2 was always screwd. Good scenes nothwihstanding, it was meaningless, aimless, unnecessary... S1 had some silly ridiculous track, but was way better! Yes all the main characters were given equal screen presence, though of course parental figures just vanished... Still s1 was really good

No, it's not about giving importance to any couple. It's about keeping the sanity and sanctity of the plot and characters intact. Not just throw away like that because of TRPs. Actually, falling TRPs is what is being alleged to have forced them to bring back Rati at such a time. Even if they did bring her back, then why oust in her in the first place? Then, bringing her back with the Dhruv angle thrown in, just made stuff look even illogical.
