Just finished watching JNDSD episode.
That Vikram Singh Chauhan is a terrific actor.
There hasn't been a shade which he couldn't portray with his expressions and body language.
In my *one member jury committee* 😛he wins hands down for best performance as male lead😆

He is that rare actor who not only is HOT but can ACT as well.👍🏼

Another big surprise is Smita Bansal.May be it was me who underestimated her performance in BV because there it is a straight forward angelic mother and sweet supportive wife and caring bahu.Never thought with her looks and sunny smile she would be able to pull of grey shaded role.

JNDSD there is hardly any story or rather writers don't know what kind of story to tell but some of the characters they designed so well like the three mothers and the FL's father. They all seem to understand their characters well so even when the story is not going any where the way they bring life to their characters makes the show watchable.

Some more articles on Toral's debut. Finally she has taken on a new project. All other BV actors have moved beyond BV, whether in good or bad projects, that is another story.

Toral is the last of the lot. Happy that she is exploring other avenues, especially theatre. It gives a wider exposure and refines your talent.

Some links, essentially the same content:

TV has become so boring. Good serials do not work with the audience and the bad ones are not worth seeing. Especially serials like Shukla's new one. Even the promos are so garish, it is not worth my time.

SV's show seems to have better story and ambiance. The lead guy is good. Not sure about SV though. Mahaan does not suit him. But I guess he wants to reverse his mean-guy image acquired by dumping and ditching Anandi. Can't blame him.

It is high time the stories became compact and to-the-point instead of this endless family saga.

Thanks for the links Artee.
Good that she has chosen to do something totally different after BV.I think it is wiser to do something as different as possible. She is not only doing something different in character but chosen a different medium altogether. Hope it works for her.

TV indeed is boring now. But the fault rests on viewers as well as the channels/makers.It is all about supply trying to meet the demands.
How else can we explain the presence of a few shows in the top 5?

About SV's show agree with you. There is not much to the story but it is the male lead and other factors which make the show interesting. It probably is his attempt at doing a character which is totally opposite to that of his previous character.
Hopefully next time he chooses a role where his character has got some role in the story.

SS show I guess it is purely to satisfy his fans and his attempt at trying something different in a very badly made show which would be lapped up by his fans like it is a piece of art.

I really hope that repeat telecast of SRK's circus makes a difference to the tv viewing pattern.
Till audience realise that short can be sweeter than never ending family sagas TV will continue to air them and K maiyyas Rashmi Sharmas rule TV screens.🥱

Im glad for T - taking up theatre is a big step..because yes she is right - it is very very difficult to play a character on stage without retakes - mistakes are not forgiven there.
What I however dont like - about most TV actors (and not just her) is the condescending tone for TV that most have..about crying like Anandi all the time..?? For once, she was fortunate that she actually played one of those characters which "did not" cry all the time and was atleast partly revolutionary in nature..

I dont know for the later part of BV, but till I watched it..A was probably in her happiest phase of level..

++++++++++++++++
compared to that, I did read an IV of another male actor (not related to BV) where he made an interesting point..that even though TV is looked down upon..it is probably that medium which reaches the most amount of people in the country..and for an actor who may shine on 70 MM, may not necessarily succeed on TV..and vice versa..

each medium is important..

I think the issue is that the work hygiene and work life balance is absolutely missing with TV..its like how it used to be for me in consultancy days..we had no sense of timings..would work for more than 12 hours a day..and because of that, today I end up cribbing about those days more than I talk about the great learning curve there..

if the association can really bring about radical changes with treating artistes and the writers with some respect..that may bring the real change in TV..they should not give permission to shows which run for more than 2 years..and also should not air scripts which are not complete on paper itself..

You got a point there.Anandi wasn't a cry baby even when her life was at it's lowest point.
I think in an effort to emphasise the difference between the two characters she blundered majorly.
I think all these TV actors somewhere feel that they were not rewarded enough for the amount hard work they put in and to top it all the public perception of the fiction on Indian Television contributes to this attitude.

@blue - I read that interview too. That man put it very well.

Toral_Rasputra__2_

Television actress Toral Tasputra who was famous for playing Anandi is back in action but this time she will be doing something for the first time. Toral is debuting in a play titled I Love You Two. Toral will be playing a character called Meera who is a married working woman. The most interesting part about her is that though she lives in a very sophisticated area but she is very loud.

Speaking on Meera Toral says,"Meera is a loud character, and that is really new for me. I would be wearing Indian dresses. Mostly ghagra and short kurti or may be palazzo and kurti."How much do you relate to the character? "To be honest, I don't. She is loud and I am exact the opposite. I am an introvert person. So it is all new for me. And I am discovering a lot of new things."

Speaking about the most highlighting factor of the play Toral tells," "Firstly, it is my first attempt with a play. Secondly, it is a situational comedy, where you will see a completely different and loud Total who won't be crying like Anandi all the time. So it is a different side of Toal that the audience will get to see."

Writer and producer Sanjay Jha says, "The play celebrates true love, Hiten Tejwani represents the male emotions and Toral the complete Indian woman. Toral was the best choice and was quite keen on theatre debut. Very few tv actors decide to do theatre after becoming successful. Falguni Rajani who is doing Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai is also there in the play"

On working with Hiten Tejwani Toral says, "I am working with Hiten for the second time. He was in Balika Vadhu and his character was shown to have feelings for my character Anandi. I am playing his wife for the first time". On being asked his onscreen doting husband image precedes him she says, "It's always fun working with him and since its a comedy play the lines are interesting. As a person he is warm and caring and the comfort level is there. I am the only one doing a play for the first time out of all the artists in the play"

*********************************

Sanjay Jha works with vidhu Vinod Chopra too...seems Experienced guy and well known in theater group 😛 Toral took different step which is 👏 She can gain more confidence and spontaneity esp doing comedy is task 😛

i like her look she is looking cute 😳

Thanks for the article along with pictures Aditi.
She does indeed look good.
We were right.BV makeup people are atrocious.
T does look good here and I think she looked her best in her V'nam tour especially the ones taken at the airport where she didn't have any make up except for lip gloss.
Really hope that this theater experience works in her favour.
She has taken a huge risk.Hope this risk pays off in a good way.
It's one thing for the likes of Anop Satayajith Sharma Surekhaji doing theater because they are from NSD and are trained primarily in performing in theater as opposed to her.
----------
Didn't watch Mehek yesterday. Slept off at 7pm only to wake up at 3am😛

Watched JNDSD though. This episode was hilarious.FL forcibly marry the ML😛😆
It resembled the scenes where villain forcibly tries to marry FL😛

I think TV fiction content providers don't know how to project their FL as a feminist.🥱

Another thing - do't know why the makers of JNDSD are flogging the dead triangle which is DEAD*er* than dead horse🥱
Wish they could come up with a story for the Mahaan brother. They could retire him from armed forces and give him a story like that movie Scent of a woman.I am sure SV will do well in a rolelike that.

Watched Katora Couple Ver 2.0😛

Hi all😊
Trying to do as many things as possible in my limited free time.
Watching TV,reading books, trying my hand at cooking and not to mention reading 😛

Mehek that abrupt transition from fun filled atmosphere to grim scene was just too abrupt may be that's what made it so much more disturbing. The story seems to be moving at last.

JNDSD - seems to be on a loop 🥱

DSDT - third angle character seems like she is out of pretty woman movie😛😆

On other things - if somebody decided to be part of show business then that person should be prepared for both adulation and hatred. If one is so affected by all that then they should shut themselves off from media so that they won't get to see/hear what is being said about them.

Am reading non fiction these days. Finally realised that by reading one page a day very day i have a better chances of finishing the book in hand😛😆

Mani Ratnam does create magic with romantic scenes😳
Kaadhal Sadugudu has Maniratnam's trade mark camera work.He gets his camera speed just right.
This is another song of Maniratnam's where he created magic with camera 😊

Somehow the magic disappears when these Hindi film makers try to recreate🤢

SS's Udi Udi is far better than Oberai's version I must say.😆
