The only thing that you have to accept is that these bad things you did will keep disturbing you at random times in the form of memories. They will make you miserable when you're happy, they will hit you like a truck when you're in a sad mood.
The only way you can reduce this is to try and correct whatever that you did to make you regret those moments. For example, If you harmed a person and you're regretting it, then you better apologise to them right away. It will reduce the regret that you're feeling âď¸
