Rishi knew she didn't love him even thought this issue was never adressed and might have assumed that love would come and grow with time.

I always thought that hadn't she been barren, maybe their marriage would have survived because then they'd have a kid to love together. The fact she couldn't bear a child put a strain on the relationship which led to her having an affair with Dev with whom she connected better as they were both two scarred people who must have felt that they were misunderstood by their spouses and even undeserving.

Maya's husband was mister perfect while Dev's wife was an overachiever with a career who was the family's breadwinner.

KANK was a really interesting film in this regard because it showed that the cheating isn't necessarily taking place because their spouses are a-holes but because their mutual relationships were already damaged.

I think that it would have been interesting to show that while one marriage is destroyed by the affair, the other one is strenghtened by it because the spouse would have forgiven the cheater or at least thought about saving what could be salvaged.

yes kank would have been ok if there was no affair

if they hooked up after their divorces

it would have been more acceptable

but yes i do get where they were coming from

Someone mentioned on the last page that in KANK we saw that cheating didn't happen as a result of the characters being a*******. I agree there but at the same time I think them cheating on their partners does sort of make them that, at least in my book...lol. This is why KANK is such an interesting movie because it opens up a discussion on that topic. Some will justify it or the act of it where as some will say there perhaps are better ways of handling the same situation. Then again we wouldn't have a movie if they went down the latter path...lol.
