I loved ZGH because I'm a sucker for women empowerment stories ... absolutely loved the way the father ignored his daughters, their mother educated them, and they all three made better lives for themselves than his worthless son. Karma hit big time 😃
I did have some issues with the way Zaroon's working mom was made vamp, and his very Westernised sister ditto ... but overall I loved the story. For once it was the female who had the bitterness and trust issues, not the male. And I liked the actress ... didn't find her very pretty, but she was a very good actress, and she played her role so well. I would love Sanaya to play a character like that.

@bold-So true! The story was a winner with me from the word go. I mean, they only had to show cynical, bitter Kashaf Murtaza & I was hooked.
@Italics-I have, finally mastered the art of ignoring unpleasant things in a show that has good content, overall. And, the slightly regressive approach shown in handling Zaroon's family & Zaroon's own unresolved chauvinism were grating on the nerves but I loved Kashaf, her sisters(how cool were they!) & her mom(best tv mom ever-the most sensible one, at least), too much to be pissed off with it. And, yes, Indian tv is badly in need of tough nut female leads & Sanaya can pull it off. Sanam Saeed is a rockstar. I love that woman.

Oh, hello fellow Fawadholic(I didn't know they were called that)!
Oh, I had a whole Fawad Khan madness phase. That is when I did a marathon of ZGH, Humsafar & Behadd. I got a lot of friends addicted to Fawad. Heck, I tolerated Sonam Kapoor to watch him on the big screen in Khoobsurat. And, after all these months, I have finally gotten some grip over it. I couldn't watch Dastaan. I was told it was too tragic & I avoid such shows. Hunsafar itself was too much for me to conplete-all that weeping was too much. ZGH kicked ass. Actually, Kashaf kicked ass. I didn't care one bit for Zaroon. He was annoying & only Fawad could make him marginally likeable. And, Sanam Saeed is my most favourite among all Pak actors, yes, she beat Fawad by a mile with her act in ZGH. The woman is a powerhouse. By the way, I heard this Turkish show aired in Pak, called Ask-i-memnu. I have been meaning to check it oyt(I bumped into it accidentally while browsing). Have you watched by any chance.? If you have, is it any good?

Fawadholic, my friend give me this name 😆😆
I tolerated sonam n her over acting too just for Fawad 😳

Dastaan is tough to handle ...poetry n all romance then tragedy
it's good you didn't watch

Sanam always plays women empowerment roles n some negative shades roles
she nailed every character now a days she is doing Diyar e Dil with brilliance.

Turkish shows translated into Urdu. if you can tell me urdu name of above mention turkish show then i'll tell

Ohh it's Ishq Mamnoo 😆😆😆
i didn't watch Turkish dramas so it's bit difficult for me to understand this but people here liked it very very much. you should give it a shot

I'm one of the few who didn't liked Dastaan at all. The story just didn't click with me.

Oh ok. I didn't know the Urdu name of it. I caught a glimpse of the female lead. She is stunning. Like, STUNNING. I mean, I am a girl who is straight & I still ended up checking it out. Then, I found out that it was a big hit in Pakistan. I think Ask-i-memnu vaguely translates to Forbidden Love in English. Ishq Mamnoo sounds similar. So, maybe, it is that. They're never going to air a Turkish show in India. And, I have grown tired of the same old grey hero, perfect heroine who saves his soul routine. This one looked pretty twisted. I'll give it a shot if I can find English subtitles. Thanks, anyway. Hey, do tell me what other shows of Sanam Saeed's are worth watching.

Same with me I loved Piku but my mom & my friends didn't liked the film at all. In there case it has nothing has anything to do with the woman empowerment factor but they said the story wasn't great at all. My friends liked Tanu Weds Manu return & I didn't.

our tastes doesn't match at all.

I LOVED Piku. I like films which break cliches. And, this was one such. I loved the interpersonal dynamics that existed between the father-daughter duo. It was adorable. And, lol. Bhashkor da is such a feminist, a man after my own heart. Irrfan Khan was effortlessly amazing, as usual. Deepika & AB Sr were amazing in this movie.

I haven't watched TWMR. But what I keep hearing is that the story is pretty average fare, but Kangana is terrific in it.
