Will this ever change?
Will these misconceptions ever give way to the truth?
I just wish one great national debate is held on Mahabharat...one that can be seen by majority of Indians, just like BR Chopra's Mahabharat...n in that debate all the misconceptions about Karna, Draupadi n all other characters are cleared once and for all...
I know there is no Original Mahabharat anymore...but atleast the integration of the common facts can be made n the interpolations be pointed out...Let people love and hate these characters for the RIGHT reasons...n not do white-washing n black-washing based on facts that were invented by fanatics n haters later...

Not possible Amrita
It's not just men...even women have the same misconception.. Only way it could get cleared is if people are made to read any of the more credible versions...very difficult
Problem is that there is no compulsion in Hinduism on people to read Vedas, Puranas and mahakavyass...

Most people I know have only read ramacharit mamas or Kamba ramayan that only in their old age after retirement spirituality.

Unlike christanity where there is a Sunday school or Islam where atleast during Ramadan people read Quran.

I know dear...I know the attitude of women towards her...
And my wish is of an ideal world, where most people will know the characters just the way, they are in the text...
But I know...this is only a hopeless dream of a disheartened fan...
And with new serials coming up on Mahabharat characters, these misconceptions will strengthen...

And that's why we are doing this version 😊

Adi, pls pls pls make sure you are include this, pretty pls!😳😊 I rely want to know why for the SAME THING, Panchali is called a war monger while Krishna is God.

And pls include all those potions where Dury and Karna and Vidur say she was responsible for the economy of the nation and the interior as well. Even if the Drau-Satya convo was an interpolation, she actually did those things.

And wanted to request all of you- I am going to try and stay honest to my character. So if G and Parth burned KP, I have to find a reason for it and their actions have to explained as well.

Urmila, I just read that in one of the Mallu texts, Devavrath was left with Shanthanu. That is, Ganga killed 7. When Shanthanu objected at killing the 8th, she left him with Papa and went off. IMO, she had Post Partum Depression.

Definitely.
There is one particular scene of Panchali with her 5 ps. That I want to include...which actually defines how she is the most important part of their lives

@Adishakti, which scene you are talking about? Would love to see that 😊
There is a line in Virat Parva, Yudhi says:

Iyam hi na priyaa varyaa praanebhyohapi gariyasi
Maata iva paripaalaya cha pujyaa jyeshthaa iva cha swasha

[She is our darling wife, even dearer than our lives, she should be taken care like a mother and worshipped like an elder sister.]

I think this is an acknowledgement of her position in their lives. We saw in Van Parva citation that she used to feed them like a mother 😊 I wish Pandavas were there to argue with modern researchers who claim that she never did those things and lied to Satyabhama.

There is no need for Pandavas to say it.

Vidur says that Panchali managed the economy quite clearly; Karna said that she was the sharpest woman he had ever seen and rescued the Pandavas; Dury said she was taking care of details during the Rajasooya. Vaishampayana said it to Janmejaya that she made certain every one of their entourage, including the Pandavas were fed and taken care of, fully.

She gave her own point of view about morality and ethics in the DS and dharm/karm with Yudhi.

If people still cannot see what she did, I would say it says more about the 'people' than about Panchali.

In Yajnaseni, I remember reading her activities in exile. Did any other book show it other than AC?
Anyway, our version will have it 😊

Scholars can't digest the fact that a woman was such all-rounder, and that's the problem. They believe that she can laugh like a mean-minded lady to her brother-in-law (I think Ajaya included that scene) but can't believe that she was Goddess Annapurna for her family. I think people close their eyes at certain places 😆
