Why did KV leave Gumraah? ๐. Is it confirmed that he has signed a movie?
Soup, BS left coz he signed a movie or wanted to pursue his Bollywood dreams na? I think he clarified that later. I read somewhere that he had already told Gul he wants to join Bollywood. Of course it was a big blow to the show and his fans and the story went totally downhill after that with the kidnapping and Mrs. India track coz they were in a hurry to shut down the show and the audience was not ready to accept Viraf as ASR.
But in KSG's case no clarification was given either by the PH or Gul or the man himself.
Anu,
I will CP from what I wrote in the HS chat corner๐
My point about actors quitting in Gul's shows is: The maker has to know the limits to which she can stretch a story. I like all the actors who worked with Gul...for different reasons- some more than the other.
BS: He wanted to quit quite early - was requested to stay back- came to a point where the guy just needed a good break. His personality is not suited for Television..I don't sympathise with him much...So long as he is happy doing his movies, I guess he made the right decision. Barun couldn't handle the fame as rightly said... or he thought he had better opportunities ahead...which didn't work. Hardly matters to me after my QH experience because most certainly IPKKND would have reached a point dragged where we would have screamed to get the show shut. Barun just saved the show from inevitable disaster 6 months down the line .
KSG: He has himself explained that he had given some time for the team to rework the script so as to kill off Asad..because he needed the break- whatever reason he quoted, I am not sure. Again, hardly matters to me because Asad was butchered as a character...he had pushed his love to marry his own brother for whatever reasons...there is no redeeming a guy after that.
Now both the quitting dramas were badly handled.
Barun denied it probably because he was asked to..the news leaked out..no one knew how to handle it and the show shut down with a happy ending. Had the show run on Zee, they would have replaced ASR or killed him like Gul did with Asad.
KSG gave a time limit of 4 months and this irked the Zee guys. They just went ahead and kicked him out. Again, the news came from the PH or the Channel...The actor's explanation came last.
KV has played it very smart and I applaud him for that. He was approached to replace Asad and he refused. He was proud to enter QH as a new character and the pairing worked. It brought teh trps back. He has been throwing around hints of his unhappiness for quite some time...Aahil as a character had nothing interesting to do for four months. What is the point in being tied down to a show as a decorative piece , mumbling 'Mera Number Kab Aayega?'๐...He gave his resignation as soon as the story line was again changed to the character being hypnotised by a satanic witch (U have to see it to believe it.๐ It is worse than the Ghost show that came after HS!๐คฃ) until the time his heroine came to save him!
He handled it quite neatly and announced his decision before Zee could make it look like they kicked him out.
Coming to think of it, why do we say Gul's shows are hero centric? All her heroes need the heroines to spell everything clearly..Not one has solved a mystery of his own...
Khushi was the real hero..as was Zoya and Sanam . Harshad was lucky because he got to the final track redeeming the hero before they could butcher him at the expense of developing other plots. I feel the hero always suffers the most in Gul's shows.๐
And I really swear...Asad and Aahil have used more glycerine than their FLs.
