@Detective Byomkesh Bakshy: Kwerky, we have a telepathic connection...
Yesterday, after I finished downloading DLKH, I also downloaded DBB, and had intended to watch it before going off to bed. [Was in a film-watching mood yesterday.]
DBB didn't really hold my attention though. Will try watching it again today, but I might just fall asleep today too... 😳😳

Have you watched the BBC series "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch? I'm not quite smitten by BC's good looks, but I quite like that show. 😳

Arrre waah...finally ONE site works. 😆 This is my go-to site for watching Hindi movies...I just don't like downloading stuff so I prefer good websites where I can watch movies online. Einthusan has HD prints...and though it takes a couple of months after the release of the movie to be featured on the site, it's worth the wait.

Telepathic connection...🤗

So did you get through DBB or fell asleep again? The plot was far-fetched, IMO.

Yes, I have watched "Sherlock"...though not the complete series. The treatment is good and I think it is a very fine show.

Wisu (enraged): You pathetic attention-seeking megalomaniac!
YOU SHOULD NOT be peddling YOUR opinions around in a debate that you are moderating. It is YOUR opinion that should not count...

[Unfortunately, the mild-mannered A. Goswami couldn't possibly hear me yelling at him from my living room...]

So he was being his usual self. 😆 What really gets my goat is HOW ON EARTH some people come in repeatedly on his show after never being allowed to say anything more than - "Arnab...Arnab...can I speak?" 😆😆

He has this I-am-the-sole-custodian-of-justice-and-the-last-standing-pillar-of-the-fourth-estate air about him which drives me mad.

Have you heard Golda Meir? When she delivered her speech saying that the state of Israel will not negotiate with terrorists, it almost sounded like a man was talking. There was nothing gentle or soft - but it was extremely courageous and obviously correct.
Our govt, on the other hand, succumbed to the pressure put on them by the relatives of the people in the hijacked plane, and their petty political compulsions. There was a very fat man (a surgeon, I remember) who was speaking on news channels on behalf of the families of the people in the hijacked IC-814, and he was constantly referring to the Rubaiyya Saeed case. Rubaiyya Saeed was a useful precedent, and now so is IC-814.

You know, when random right-wingers on news websites post responses to messages opposing the death penalty saying: "what if one of your family members had perished in the terrorist strike?", it makes me think...
While I don't even want to imagine how I will cope with the grief of losing someone in a terrorist attack, I can say for sure that if I were to be killed in such an attack, I would not want the terrorist to be executed. If there is any life left in me after the attack, and they ask me for my opinion on my deathbed, I am quite certain, I will not want the person responsible to be killed in return.
Should he be made aware of the senselessness of his actions? Yes, of course.
Should he be incarcerated? Yes.
Should he be rehabilitated? Yes.
It can't be just be the leftist liberal in me, who'd be willing to give up my life without a virulent urge to seek revenge. I would have expected that the nationalists would rather be more willing to sacrifice themselves, nahin? 😛

Correction: when I said Mullah Omar, I actually meant to write Maulana Masood Azhar...but got the incorrect name in as the former was in the news last week.😳

No, I have not heard Golda Meir...but I will surely check it out soon.

I understand what you are trying to say when you speak of rehabilitation of those arrested. But I am not sure there is any possibility of any reverse brain-washing happening which could make them realize the senselessness or the repurcussions of their actions. A lot of these young men (and women) take up arms due to the repeated propaganda/lies/truth/partial truth they have been fed for years...even though they are quite young (and I am only talking about the terrorists like the one caught yesterday in J&K...not the hardened criminals heading the terror organizations)...how do you go about changing their mindset...specially in an establishment like ours where the overwhelming majority is baying for their blood when a stray terrorist is caught and any voice opposing the death penalty is seen as anti-national? 🤔

@bold: right, we could have expected the nationalists to do so only if they were true nationalists. For now, we have to make do with the pseudo-nationalists bellowing away. 😊

IF mein I found a food and recipes forum... Some people post pictures of food that they have cooked. I'm thinking, I should just start with unprofessional pictures, only so that I can at least start with the idea... 🤔

That's a good idea, Wisu. All blogs start like this...it would be good to post your pictures on that forum just to get started...to see the feedback on your recipes/pictures and maybe learn something in the process once you engage with the other participants there. Go for it! 👍🏼

You know, how it was last year? We had a similar thread, and we needed to fill it up, because I was determined not to go to the BB forum until the CC thread was finished. So, every morning, I'd wake up and spam that thread. Every evening, I'd see that GG has done her bit too...
And we were not even talking to each other. At one point, I decided to make a list of my favourite words, and then I would make one post after another, each with just one word that caught my fancy. It had gotten so bad that IF was giving me spam warnings. 😆 😆 😆
GG had similarly posted pictures, and random messages... That was the fate of

This year, at least we are having a conversation. Hopefully, by the time BB starts, we will be done with this thread. 😆😆

Achcha?! Then the thread seems to be running a tad better this year.😆

Haan, hopefully by the time BB starts we would have finished this one. Is Salman Khan hosting it again this year...or is Colors waiting for the hearing to commence and finish to be sure that he won't be whisked away to prison in the middle of BB9? 😛

On the subject of Salman Khan, I saw an article today where Forbes had released the list of highest paid movie stars in the world. Robert Downey Jr tops the list but we have three Indians too in the Top 10. Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan share the same spot at...I think...No. 6 or 7...followed by Akshay Kumar. 🤓

I have never really warmed up to the idea of movie stars around the world making such obscene amounts of money while others who affect the lives of human beings in a much more profound/meaningful way are perpetually struggling.

Actually, this country is famous for its freedoms, and its general unwillingness to clamp down on such sites... Pataa nahin kyun they had the other site blocked... (Perhaps it is the site which does not operate here...)

@DBB: I finally managed to stay awake during my third attempt...
I didn't quite like the movie. Even his skills as a detective are rather unimpressive... I didn't even like the guy playing the role of BB... Kinda had Rajit Kapoor in my mind, and couldn't shake that off...

Satya vachan, Kwerky... ⭐️

As much as the guy gets on my nerves though, if he is bashing Sushma Swaraj on the Newshour today, I'd be willing to watch it... 😳
Today, at work, I was listening to Sushma Swaraj's reply to the Parliament during my break... She claimed that she didn't help Lalit Modi, but was helping his wife instead. Very melodramatically, she read a letter that Mrs. LM had written to her... That corrupt politicians would go as far as invoking seedy sentimentalism really did annoy me. Inka ilaaj A. Goswami aur uska megalomania hai, I tell ya... 😆😛😛
