@Abhay and Ela ,
I have so many questions in history and I will bother both of you time to time.😆
But not everything related to Mughals.
I had this question always in my mind that Portuguese had come before Britishers but they were only successful with Goa ,why? Didn't they try further ?

A truly profound write-up Nanayaa623. 👏. Loved every line that you have shared.😊 Where were you all these days? Missed reading your thoughts that you put forth simply and sensitively.

Two royal youngsters barely out of their teens meet, one Hindu, one Muslim. A bond that began on hatred later turned into pure, binding, everlasting, selfless love.Their love did not happen overnight.

'True love never ran smooth".

It faced several hurdles, they experienced both joy and sorrow together, their love is not one of physical gratification, alone. It was based on them being attracted to each other due to their qualities. If we recall, Akbar never forced himself upon her. Their love looked beyond their individual imperfections. They allowed each other to grow, and learned from each others' minuses. Their love is pragmatic, hence the devotion towards each other is natural, heartfelt and indestructible. They understood each other without having to express their feelings in words. What a beautiful journey ... !

This is why even after death, Jodha is the only begum, buried closest to Akbar. That alone speaks volumes about the nature of their relationship.

Thank You Charu, you write equally beautiful. 😳

Hi Rashmi...Yaar I will definetely try to answer if I know it...Potuguese could not proceed further due to various reasons...They lacked economic and political means to win a big country like India and remember in those days India was having strong rulers like mughals and Marathas were also on the rising...Purtagalis were fanatics unlike britishers who were not much in to conversions...and If I am right then later on portugal was merged with spain ..Britishers got India when mughal were a nobody and marathas were defeated by Abdali...there was no central power like mughals to fight with britishers..So it was very difficult for portugese to get India due to hostile political climate..They were more powerful in water but could not compete with mughals on land etc..

@ Charu, I took 2 weeks break to rest but was very upset with the Cv team for the way they are making Salim speak so rudely to his parents I just lost my interest.

He has become the 'love doctor' all off a sudden who don't understand love😕

His mother who doesn't want him drinking even alcohol hates him and his stepmother who have been given him drugs from childhood is the love who loves him😕 how twisted this CV team reason.

Anyways yesterday made me quite dreamy😆 but my expectation is still low wonder if anything good can come out of Ekta and co this time🥱

Smith writes" Badoni took part in holy battle of Haldighati..At one stage Badoni asked Asaf Khan that how could he distinguish between friendly and enemy rajputs and commander replied it does not matter if he can distinguish or not..Which ever side Rajputs are killed, it will be a gain for Islam."Badaoni followed the advice..

You said it absolutely right.

Unfortunately the team of writers are not proficient enough. They started off by portraying Salim as a nervous, confused child with low self esteem, a kid who seriously believes that his parents don't love him, don't understand him and hence found fault with him and punished him. They have shown him drinking alcohol and as an 'afeem' addict since he was eight years old.

Right from day one there have been loop holes in the etching of Salim's character. Drug addicts never behave rationally. The Creatives have not been successful in conveying to the audience that most of Salim's unacceptable erratic behavior stems from a systematic addiction to 'afeem'. It is sad that when EK set out to incorporate such a sensitive and serious issue such as drug addiction, in a historical, she took no steps to 'correctly' portray, the effects and repercussions of the drug on the character that is being shown as an addict.

The end result of such irresponsibility is utmost hatred towards the character of Salim, by the audience. The audience watches the serial for entertainment. The characters of Jodha and Akbar have imprinted themselves in the minds of millions across the world. To watch their son disrespecting them, will not be tolerated. No one is going to think logically that Salim is behaving this way due to psychological issues festering since childhood, amply nurtured by periodical intake of 'afeem' 😡 and a constant negative emotional manipulation by the stepmother 😡 .

In this day and age, EK could have most definitely hired writers who are knowledgeable about different aspects of drug addiction. Sensible, logical facts pertaining to drug ingestion and typical behavior portrayed by an addict, could have been combined with dramatic elements and incorporated into the storyline. This would have been more tolerable and acceptable.

Look at the manner in which the espionage system within the mahal is being shown. Isn't it hard to believe that a king as shrewd and alert as Akbar was unaware of his son's addiction to opium? Those days the kings were fully aware of all happenings within the mahal. They had an efficient network of 'informants' who kept them up to date of everything going on in the lives of their children. In Salim's case , he was the 'heir apparent' and very precious to both his parents. So I'm sure that all his movements and actions were closely monitored.

EK is fully responsible for the current dismal status of Jodha Akbar. I sincerely hope and pray that she never again ventures into making another historical. Ample mutilation of one is enough for a lifetime.
