I don't think khabri will lie . May be Bb wanted to show pritam also didn't get any outside information or as you said didn't want pritam to be shown as negative . By the way ankit , pritam got a phone call from wife earlier , some weeks before khabri had given news but it was not shown in episode . Do you remember when praneet got call from family on his birthday ? during that time pritam also got chance to speak

I laughed a lot watching tanna screaming " mom" going near confession room and banging head 🤣 , end main jaakar chapter forgot , took make up , game over 😆
