You're right, my very sensible bitiya.
I should have thought of that before asking, sorry.

What fandom war is going on?? I"m so out of the loop on the happenings of IF😕

Riaji, Thanksgiving is a day celebrated in the US on the fourth Thursday of November. The holiday originated from when the Puritans came to the Americas and were thankful for their harvest (I think!)...but now the day is just about giving thanks for all that one has along with a big feast that usually includes Turkey, stuffing, gravy, pies, etc (lol I'm not sure what all else there is since my family never does a Thanksgiving dinner). The day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday - it's probably one of the biggest shopping days of the year, with every store offering great deals and opening at crazy times to entice shoppers. Hope that gives you a quick snapshot of the Thanksgiving festivities!

Aami behen 🤗. Thank you yara, yep this is pretty insightful. I knew from the name that it must be related to being grateful and saying thanks but somebody who lives in that culture would give a better description than the very theoretical wikipedia.

Ah, the fandom wars, they keep happening. Check your inbox in a minute.

Yes, I heard it has spread to UK now!!! Did you go shopping? If so, how was it?

It shouldn't even be called Black Friday here anymore - the stores are now starting to open at 6 pm on Thursday (they used to open in the middle of night on Friday's😆) I feel so bad for all the workers in those stores because Thanksgiving used to be one of the only days that almost every single store/workplace was closed.

Riaji🤗How is your AD treating you nowadays?? Hope all is well.

Thanks for the PM - I will check it tomorrow - don't think my brain will function at this moment😆

LOL I'm sure wikipedia can give you more thorough info and the actual history behind the holiday, but I'm glad I was able to give you some insight!!
