And fans too always demand for shows to get extended and care for quantity rather than quality. This just seems to go on in circles and I wonder whether this cycle will ever be broken and whether we'll get good shows to watch.

then do what american shows do. if their pilot captures attention they get a season to showcase a limited number of episodes. if that season does well then they take a break before the next season comes. kitani mohabbat hai did something similar. i don't remember much saas bahu stuff but i commend it on ending when it did. preferred second season more as the characters were much more attitude driven especially the girl played by kritika kamra. when her husband married her and left her at her mom's house as revenge she didn't just cry. she took a doli by herself to his house to turn his life upside down. lol. the look on her in laws faces. but there were some here and there filler episodes too.

anyways that way you can have longevity of a show but in more bitesize chunks that if it should go wrong can be ended much quicker. what do you guys think?

nooo!!!!!!!!! not this long lost family member coming for revenge track. man now i am dissapointed. oh well i could not watch it because i have to study for uni. star plus and so on will not get me my degree. i'm relying on updates from you guys and then i will watch it in my holidays so probably around christmas and then maybe at easter and finally at summer. something to look forwards too or not if EHT continues in a downward spiral.

The only good thing left of this show is Sakshi Goenka.

Irregardless of the fact that the makers have completely messed up the thriller bits, the characterization of Sakshi has been done very well.

She is an enigma- who intrigues you constantly, and keeps you guessing about her motives.

Though she does have her weakness (her son), she is as cold-blooded as a snake and can employ any method to get her way.

She seems mighty drunk on her power and wealth, but there also seems to be a yearning in her for love and genuine relationships. She seems to have lost all hopes with regard to her marriage and is shown as occasionally troubled by her dysfunctional relationship with Rajnath, to the extent that she detests it when he touches her! (As shown in one of the initial episodes)

I think she is perhaps the best example of an amoral/grey shaded character on Indian TV so far. If for nothing else, the writers need to be commended for making her so interesting. And half the credit also goes to Simone for delineating Sakshi so well and keeping the viewers engrossed.

I am just going ahead and surmising that at least 70% of the viewers watch the show only for the character. The strait-laced and utterly mundane Durga who is all talk and no action just pales in comparison to Sakshi.

Regarding the finite no of episodes required for Indian shows, I agree.

I am currently watching a lot of Pak shows on Zindagi. Trust me, the themes are definitely not new, but the fact that there are only 20-24 episodes makes a LOT of difference.

For one, the treatment. The pace is just about right and the themes are delineated better because they have to show a credible movement in the action within the span of twenty epis.

The realism of the setting. When was the last time we saw a middle-class home actually look like one in Indian TV? They'll show something like the characters are in dire straits or something and they'll be all decked up in shiny jewelry and impeccable clothes😕

And another plus of Pak shows- good camera work with natural lighting, and no unnecessary zooming on the faces of the actors as they give their reactions, from infinite angles.

Even some of the worst Pak shows are infinitely better than some of the crap Indian TV throws at us every day. A finite no of epis needs to become the order of the day, SOON.

Even if they adopt the season concept, it's fine. Both the writers and actors can refresh themselves and come back anew, and do the execution properly.😊

Sakshis/Simone is amazing she keeps me glued to my screen they really need to focus more on here
Simone is definitely the breakout star of the show when it started I kinda thought it would give sanjeeda a boost but nsimone just blew us all away
I'm glad the writers also know this and are concentrating on her their obsession with dev d was really mind boggling pathetic actor and pathetic character sheesh

I never wanted Akash to have another revenge angle. I wanted him to be an undercover cop instead. In fact they could have easily shown us that. Why ? Akash has been showed as a person who never loses his cool. Even in tricky situations we find htis guy calm and composed. Nothing irritates him .Not even Shaurya's attitude. Also, he works like a professional.

BUT melodrama is important in TV shows so another revenge angle🤣

Now that they have come with it lets see how they take it.

I just watched the episode and this is what i call a Collectors edition episode. 👏
It looked like i watching the the Pre Dev EHT which i loved. 😆
But as usual this will be a lollipop and we will see a bunch of crap episode now. 🥱
As Debby said i also wanted and expected Aakash to be an undercover Cop but CVs surprised me. 😊

And i agree with everyone the only thing left to watch is Simone/Sakshi Goenka in the show.
Durga looks too much dramatic for me now. 🥱

And BTW where is Mr Dumbo hiding? His wife is absent at night we dont see anything about that. 😆
Well i am happy we didnt get to see him. Actually we should watch only Dev free episodes, Its guaranteed to be good going according to the history. 😆
