Actors on the sets of Balika Vadhu faced a problem a few months ago with the air conditioner not working. Sidharth Shukla spoke up about this and the problem was then solved. But this incident continues to haunt him.

He says, "Almost every month, it gets reported in the media and that too, negatively. It's made out to be some kind of a tantrum thrown by me and that's shocking. I did ask for the AC to be repaired for all of us, but what's wrong with that? Wouldn't you ask for the same if the air conditioner stopped working in your office? I have no clue where these stories emerge from." Even the channel has taken note of this and are trying to find out who's spreading the rumours.

Meanwhile, Sidharth is balancing films and television. About his time management skills, he says, "The motivation comes from my character Shiv being loved by so many people." What about reports regarding simmering tension between him and co-actor Shashank Vyas (it was reported that Shashank felt he was being sidelined in one of the earlier tracks)? "I'm really not aware of any tension between me and any actor on the show."

Now, with Shashank having asked for his shift to be reduced from 12 to 10 hours, there's buzz that other actors too want the same. "To each his own. I just focus on my work. I have a commitment of 12 hours a day with the production house and I'll stick to that," he signs off.

That must have been a voluntary decision taken by him to continue shooting for 12 hours because he has to take off for his movie work too.

The channel PH and the actors must have been okay with it

Any ways we don't know the reasons.😛
---------
Did anyone watch MB yesterday?
I shut off after Ganga's appearance from underground.

That reminds me about the way the original Mahabharata written by Ved Vyas.
So many characters and each had his or her own story and they all came to Kurukshetra and their reasons for coming are totally different from that of Pandavas and Kauravas depending upon their own life and stories they decided to support either Pandavas or Kauravas.

Wonderful story woven so beautifully along and each character has been integrated into the story in such a beautiful manner.

Any story will work only when all the characters are woven into the main story. If the characters are not integrated into the story they just look like an offshoot and doesn't attract interest or attention.

New York: In a discussion that has gone viral on the Web, PepsiCo's India-born CEO Indira Nooyi, counted among the world's most powerful women, has acknowledged that it is difficult to maintain a work-life balance.

"I don't think women can have it all. I just don't think so. We pretend we have it all. We pretend we can have it all," 58-year-old Ms Nooyi told David Bradley, owner of the Atlantic Media Company, at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado this week.

Ms Nooyi said she has died "with guilt" several times as she tried to bring up her two daughters with her husband of 34 years. She recounted that she felt guilty for not being able to attend several activities at her daughters' school as she could not take time off from work.

She talked about support systems that career women have to build. "...every day you have to make a decision about whether you are going to be a wife or a mother, in fact many times during the day you have to make those decisions. And you have to co-opt a lot of people to help you. We co-opted our families to help us. We plan our lives meticulously so we can be decent parents. But if you ask our daughters, I'm not sure they will say that I've been a good mom. I'm not sure. And I try all kinds of coping mechanisms," she said.

Some of her remarks have struck a deep chord with other women juggling a career and home and are also being hotly debated on social media. Like when she said, "My observation... is that the biological clock and the career clock are in total conflict with each other. Total, complete conflict. When you have to have kids you have to build your career. Just as you're rising to middle management your kids need you because they're teenagers, they need you for the teenage years."

She added: "And that's the time your husband becomes a teenager too, so he needs you. They need you too. What do you do? And as you grow even more, your parents need you because they're aging. So we're screwed. We have no...we cannot have it all."

Ms Nooyi is the fifth CEO in PepsiCo's 44-year history. She recounted the day 14 years ago when she was told that she would be made president of PepsiCo and be named to the board of directors.

She said she was "overwhelmed" but her mother's reaction was, she said, "let the news wait. Can you go out and get some milk."

Ms Nooyi recalled her mother telling her, "let me explain something to you. You might be president of PepsiCo. You might be on the board of directors. But when you enter this house, you're the wife, you're the daughter, you're the daughter-in-law, you're the mother. You're all of that. Nobody else can take that place. So leave that damned crown in the garage. And don't bring it into the house."

"You know I've never seen that crown," the corporate honcho said.

When I saw this I was reminded of the MF and all those posts about working women and housewives,Womens' rights feminism etc😛😉 and all those posts which look down on women who chose to stay at home to look after their kids😡
This is coming from a woman who has rose to the highest position in the corporate world on her own merit 😃

Very interesting article...Aparna..
and very very real...atleast to my psyche..
One of the very obvious reasons...that I'am still not able to go back to work after my kid's birth...
and the aspect of ageing parents also cannot be ruled out - absolutely...
