Hey great thread, atominis!
You might remember me from the Old Movies FC 😊

I so miss the 90s and remember them so fondly

There were so many shows I loved from back then, off the top of my head, Hum Paanch, Hip Hip Hurray, Amanat, Filmy Chakkar, Tu Tu Main Main etc etc

One particular show was my most favorite called Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum on Zee but I still have absolutely no idea how it ended or whether it was pulled off air. I think it aired around 96 or 97. It had Pallavi Joshi (my favorite actress back then), R Madhavan & Girish Malik and it was set in the background of terrorism in Mumbai. Anybody heard of that show?

Thanks for coming in dearies!😊
I was born in 1989. I was little but remember those days, those movies, shows, ads, life in those days much better and more than stuff later. The images of Doordarshan, early Zee, early Sony are still there in mind. And nostalgia of balloons, cassettes, huge stereo and music players, Mattel toys...

I love those days so much that they don't even feel like "past". Lagta hai jaise abhi bhi hai.

I am in lot of such 90s, 80s groups on other sites and still love watching old stuff online or re runs on DD, its sister channels, Zee Smile, Zee Anmol, classic movie channels.

Very happy to find like minded people online. Always a pleasure to relive the era and wonderful childhood days.

Welcome once again and let's start discussing!

Even I happen to remember more of the shows, films, music of the 90s than I do of any other era.

My audio/video cassettes were my most prized possessions from my childhood Still have them though there is no longer any player to play them in 😛

For me it was mostly Zee and Star in my house and the old MTV which was more or less forbidden 😆

@zephyr
MTV was a no no.😉

We watched mostly Doordarshan, Zee and later Sony. Star only in 1998-99 with serials like Saans and Kora Kaagaz.

I don't remember Yeh Kahan aa gaye hum but have heard of it. I didn't like Pallavi Joshi for some reason.😆 My fav was Renuka Shahane. And in looks I liked Shikha Swaroop as Chandrakanta.

I have still not allowed anyone to throw away cassettes.😊

Ah the beauty of Nostalgia, its personal to everyone of course, for me it would be anything pre 2000s i dont claim to have seen much shows on tv, except the mythological ones of classics like Ramayan, Mahabharat the latter still ever close, and the Ramanand sagar Krishna serials
I remember when 90s pop songs was the thing, and also some mellow 90s bollywood film and songs
i still cherish certain things of the past, be it indian, bollywood or western, my faves range from the beatles music to donald duck classics to brc mahabharat, i adore all things vintage and retro as they are analogous to the notion of nostalgia in culture
Well done atominis for initiating such a novel thread

Renuka Shahane was another big favorite of mine 😃. She was someone who could handle shows like Sailaab as well as comedy like Mrs. Madhuri Dixit so well 👍🏼, also love Shefali Chayya. Not so familiar with Chandrakanta (got Doordarshan much later and only for a short while) but Shikha I do remember her from shows like Andaaz and Kahaan Se Kahaan Tak.

Star I mostly remember for the children's shows they would have for an hour called The Lost Planet 😆 They used to show stuff like Small Wonder, Robotech, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the old 1960s Batman TV series in that hour 😊...oh man writing about it is really making me miss those shows now 😆

Cool great to see another Beatles fan 😃! But I'll refrain since this is about the 90s or else I'll just get carried away 😆

The Indian pop music scene was really something in the 90s - Alisha Chinoy, Baba Sehgal, Suneeta Rao, Daler Mehendi, Anaida, Bally Sagoo, I think even Phalguni Pathak made her entry back then

As far as Mythos go I only remember Mahabharat and little of the Krishna serial
