Prabba, I hope you have a fantastic time in India visiting all your relatives and going back to your roots again. 🤗

Get pampered, get spoiled, and eat all your favorite Indian dishes to your heart's content. 😊

Umz, Thanks for sharing that pic. Yes, we need our weekly dose of the freak. 😆 I am going to watch the episode and leave a "sticky" note here.

Ooo melikes - old theory lovers would remember that she made a very similar gesture (tucking a flower under his ear) with a certain someone not so long ago. 😆. How the times change!

I agree that her clothes are not exactly the traditional clothes of Rajasthan but isn't this fiction and all?

If we can get used to KKG wearing backless blouses then why cant we get past this?

Tell me about it! My jaw fell open when I read some of the comments - like seriously? You find a woman in a ghaghra choli so sexually suggestive? Yay for sexy ghaghra cholis then!

@Swati 🤗

Ponds BB cream doesn't have too many shades and the ones it has doesn't really match my skin tone. 😆 But I am going to look for the sunscreen from Vichy. I don't think Korres is available here. I shall not splurge on Shisheido. I use a lot of products from Clarins : CTM, serums , exfoliaters, sunscreen and a facial oil. You suggest I don't splurge on them? I have an oily sensitive skin hence I am wary of using products which I am not sure of. So end up splurging on high end products You have any recommendation for my type of skin, do let me know. . 😊

We must sit and bash the Bengali shows specially BSB. Over loaded with work but I hope we bump into each other soon and bash to our heart's content. 😆

Awww - that's a pity that Pond's BB cream doesn't have too many shades. Maybelline BB cream based on titanium dioxide has a lot of shades, but I guess it's not available in India.

Yay - I'm so glad you decided against Shisheido - they are so absurdly priced!

If Clarins works for you then you should stick to it by all means. We should all find the skincare brand that works for us.

Here's my personal skincare philosophy

I like to keep it simple. What I need for my regular skincare routine are these things

1. Cleanser - I'm a huge fan of the oil cleanse method because I do believe that oil removes makeup and dirt better than simply soap. So I use a cleansing oil - I use DHC which is an olive oil based cleansing oil and it is amazing. You take a little bit, massage on your face like an oil and then when you splash water it becomes foamy and soap-like. Clarins actually makes a lovely cleansing milk too.

2. Moisturizer - Skin just needs something to lock the moisture in - so anything that doesn't make your skin break out should be good enough. Of course there are a whole host of antioxidants which are found in creams which all claim to improve your skin and it becomes mindboggling and confusing as to which cream to choose. Just remember
a) anti-oxidants start breaking down in contact with sunlight so a cream in a jar would lose its antioxidants within a matter of days
a) Most of these creams don't have the potent ingredients in big quantities to make a difference and even the most expensive creams don't have them in large quantities

If you really have to spend on a cream with anti-oxidants - look for one that has an opaque packaging with a dispenser pump on top. And look for ones with Vitamin A (Retin-A, retinaldihyde) or Vitamin C (the ones with potent vitamin C are very unstable - you're better off just eating an orange rather than buying a vitamin C cream). Everything else has limited benefits.

So just stick to a cream that doesn't break you out, isn't too pricey, locks in the moisture and works for you. My personal preference is for facial oils - anything based on olive oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, coconut oil, argan oil, tsubaki oil - these are oils whose structure is closest to the body's natural oils. Currently I'm using using a facial oil by a British company called Pukka that makes ayurvedic formulation based oils.

3. Sunscreen - the single most important skincare tool. You can ignore everything else but not this - because a lot of skin damage comes from sun exposure. We've already discussed sunscreens so won't bore with repeating that again. As I said - I've been using the Mexoryl based Anthelios sunscreen and love it - but anything based on zinc oxide and titanium dioxide would be an excellent choice too.

We so need to discuss BSB!!! The other day I was watching BSB and they used one of the loveliest pieces of background music in IPK (the one they first used when Arnav pulled Khushi's dupatta and kissed her) in the most lame, ordinary scene! Aaargh!!! Idiots! The direction is actually not bad - it's just that the actors cast for the role are so so lame. Yash really makes me appreciate bhaiyya.
