Could be the cumulative effect of her previous relationships failing as well...she has /had no family I think or had been disowned ... She's had a sad life even before Tharoor .. !

As far as I have heard ...she has a grown up son from her second marriage ...not sure ...but was from a rich family in South ...had slew of controversies but she never bent herself even if she was wrong ! ..Nonetheless, no one deserves such an end ! Its sad and unfortunate !

I find it hard to believ it was due to her illness
