On a serious note, WR activist friend of mine sent me a link for a TOI article about how abusive husbands are the inthing in desi TV these days apart from the usual suspects the list had next door Rathore too I was like okay then I just saw today's epi. Seriously whats the man up to? Whats the need to lead her on like that?

@bold:- I think he wants to play on her good nature and then she herself will feel that even when Anshuman has accepted her completely, she herself is not fit to be his wife and so will stage a walkout. It is like he wants her to do the walk out and make it look like she herself felt that she was incompatible.

I think at this point, Pakhi wants the thing to be successful and she hasn't caught on the mind games of the servants and her husband. Hence she is juggling to be jack of all trades but she will learn that she can't do things by herself alone soon.

But me very happy on this fact Priyanka. Chalo at least one PH is trying to tell fixed format story and moving on. I am sick and tired of the shows which go on needlessly just so they can make moolah. Any day I am in favor of shows which have a definite ending.

Well this is a load of the same bullcrap that channels dish out to justify their serials. I think the channels have to break away from the notion that abuse sells because women folk identify with it. I don't think that is the case. If that were the case then Suraj and Sandhya wouldn't be TRP toppers for more than 1.5 yrs straight and every week it is going higher and higher because now the track is of the husband supporting the wife in her IPS dreams. People, women in general want to be appreciated and would love to have an husband like Suraj and that is why DABH is such an hit not only in Hindi but all regional remakes(it is remade in Kannada and the actors are even more pathetic than the hindi ones but the serial is super duper hit).

There are only few teenagers who glorify abuse as romance and the channels are following those people and trying to sell their shows. None of the serials mentioned have an long lasting impression on the audience mind. Look at MB - it tanked royally as soon as Mahabharat got on air. The reason people watched earlier was - there was no other alternative at that time slot. When something better came along they had no qualms to ditch that show and move on. That is what is going to happen to all these abusive shows - the moment something better comes along people move on and forget about it. Only the teenagers who are fed on the M&B staple of dark and brooding man cry themselves hoarse that the show is wonderful. Normal audience don't care for these shows.
