I find it really illogical, the behaviour and expectations of QH fans. When the show was launched, we saw a set of promos, all indicating that this is a show about two brothers and the girl who came into their lives. We saw a glimpse of two families distanced by circumstances. All of this was reaffirmed in the synopsis. As part of the story, each character had to be developed, their narrative set forth and the stage set for the real story to be told. Fans, however, have got lost in the setting and want to forget the story and are ranting at the CV as though the CVs are coming between Asad and Zoya. Asad and Zoya are but two characters created by the CVs for a narrative purpose in a larger drama. They are executing what they always intended to execute, the marriage between Ayaan and Zoya. A temporary marriage that furthers the narrative. If fans only want to see Asya, then Maburt is illogical. But the story was never Asya's. It was always about two brothers and the girl who came into their lives and the two families. Gul Khan and the PH made it pellucid on more than one occasion, this is a family saga. Yes it has a love story, but that is not the central theme of the story. The family saga is. We are getting exactly what the PH promised in the promos and the synopsis. If fans are only interested in Asad and Zoya, their story does not die with Maburt but it continues through and survives Maburt and Gafoor and Razia. Fairy tales are nice. Happy endings too. But before we get happy endings and even after, life happens. Zoya has had rotten luck and Asad worst as it is his best friend who is wreaking havoc in their lives. However, it is all linked to a bigger narrative of the family saga. I would suggest we watch and endure the parts that are unpalatable as so far, there has only been one gap in the narrative and that was Najma's supposed feelings for Imran. However, the Najma/Imran track which I myself was up in arms against, is now providing the groundwork for a spectacular comeback and the Gafoor reveal. Zoya is incomplete without knowing her past. As we saw in Issaq Tera, post Maburt we will have a harmonious Asad and Zoya, completely attuned with each other. This track gets us there.
