God is a friend for me
who knows me in n out.. who teases me, laughs with me, gives surprises n shocks too... make me cry by making mistakes and then made me smile by correcting it...!
By looking into sky i talk to him, i even challenge him most of the times he easily wins and when i win i show him attitude too...
Every morning i say him, wassup dude? aaj dadi/mom ne ghar me light ('Diya') jalayi ki nahi?

he sleeps besides me, walk with me, breathe with me, hear me, expressed himself... ahh he does everything but just doesnt talk...

He actually drives my life, as i live life the way it comes...

All n all, He is whole n sole.. My Best Friend...!!

@red: That is true for me too. I don't essentially believe in a Divine Power, but it's always good to know that there's someone who looks out for you, even when you can't help yourself. For me, God is someone who knows when I feel guilty inside and I promise that I will do whatever I can to redeem myself, someone I can complain to when I feel that everyone is being unfair, someone I can confess to, when I know I was wrong all along.

But basically, for me, my conscience is my God. I think the belief that there is a super entity that governs our lives and is there to put things right even if they are horribly wrong gives us courage and mental strength. It lets us face the world, and even ourselves, and without a clear and healthy conscience, that is not possible.

I think, when you do a wrong, and you ask forgiveness from God, your conscience is seeking forgiveness, and trying to give it to you.

I don't follow all rituals. Just lighting an agarbatti in the evening and keeping the lights on. I don't know all rituals and customs, actually. Ma has thirteen-fourteen different idols/images in the thakur ghor (Room of the Gods) and I pray to each of them in turn and then send a general message to all of them, before my exams only, or when I light the agarbatti. That is where my interaction with God and His manifestations ends.

Otherwise, I'm like, "I'm sorry, sorry, pakka I'll study tomorrow. Pakka. Let's strike a bargain, shall we?" to the ceiling. 😆

I guess I just think God lives within me, and with me.

Fari!! Sorry, I got late writing the essay above. 😆 Okay, if it seems alright to you, it must be correct. ;) But, why does this fasting affect sleep patterns? I think I saw Z write about that somewhere...

You should rest, go sleep!

I will explain...we fast from sunrise to sunset. Because it is the month of July, the days are longer in the northern hemisphere, our sleep timings are disturbed. For example - for us sunrise is at 5.48am, hence we have to have our breakfast one hour before sunrise, meaning before 4.48am, which means we have to get up at least at 4:00am to give us enough time to prepare and eat B/F.
Not only that, the sun sets at 8.58pm, which is when we break our fast, pray and then eat dinner. We don't go to bed before midnight and have to wake up again at 4:00am. These time patterns will continue for a few years- untill Ramadhan starts to fall in March/April. In case you didn't know, the Muslim calendar has 11 days less than the Georgian calendar (normal calendar), so it keeps moving through the year. Also the sunrise/sunset time varies depending on which country you are in.
Its good to share our customs and religion with our Comrades and hope you share yours too with us. Love you all.
RAMADHAN KAREEM to all our Muslim friends and may Allah grant you strength and peace during this Holy month.
Love,
Leafs

Rabba Ve, Shassy and Leafs! Leafs and Soulie, thank you for the info. :)

Arey! Why the wish to only Muslim friends? Festival hai, toh sabke saath! ;) Ramadan Kareem to you too, Leafs. And Shassy. :)

Shassy, don't pull Soulie's leg always. Uske haath se bana khana mujhe kyun poison karega? :p It was my college canteen! Ganda momo tha!

Sorry, but I gotta go now. Mera samay samapt hota hai aaj ke liye.

Rabba Ve and goodnight, my dosts.
