Nathan Scott
Nathan is the son of Deborah and Dan Scott, as well as the younger half-brother of Lucas. At first, he is resentful of his brother, and feels threaten when Lucas joins his basketball team. Nathan was seen as selfish and a jerk, especially as he treated his then girlfriend - Peyton, badly. However, he has to deal with constant pressure from Dan, who wants him to become the very best basketball player and Deborah (Deb) isn't always there for him. Because his academic performance isn't good, he receives tuition help from Haley (Lucas' best friend), and soon falls in love with her despite Lucas' dismay. They end up marrying even though no one agrees to it, however after Nathan and Lucas' relationship starts to become strong. After a few problems, Haley finds out she's pregnant with their son and Nathan becomes more mature, and finds ways to finance themselves (as they no longer live with Dan & Deb). From a selfish jock, Nathan becomes a much nicer and caring person.
