polly loved ur take abt d role f characterization in making chemistry...
nandini,u made a nice oint yaar,chemistry doesnt mean just romantic chemistry...d sibling chemistry ws sometimes under raated in ipk...abt payal n arnav scenes,very less we got but brilliant ones...
ritu yeah,iyz d actors' talent n compatability wid each othermakes gud chemistry...i really enjoyed dis 'chemistry" talk but for a different reason lol..everyone made gud points...:)

yes... agree n towards the end, when Arnav confronts Shyaam (bulb broken scene, near the steps), i felt the intensity of looks even then... Abhaas did a perfect job, n i hated it when Kushi interfered n negated that fight

another ctor who is worth a mention for his performance is Shaym aka Abhaas Mehta.👏

I loved their scenes, perfect balance of angst, hatred, jealousy. Both rocked it.

yeah,in madhubala d character rk is layered but the lead's poor acting skills made it one dimensional...
in ipk,several times asr fell flat coz f d shotr comings in d script n barun literally saved asr wid his acting skils...
same thingss apply to d combination scenes also...but if ipk is on air now,n barun n sanaya r still dere,i dont think even their acting cud save d show ...the rabbaveys lost
deir charm during d last 2months n became literally dabbaveys lol...and in a way im.happy it ended coz i cnt tolerate more jalebi making scenes n towel dancefrom asr...abt khushi,i hv no words...
d behna show z facing d imminent death now...even gud actors like nia n karan r like mere wall papers n set properties..
it reached d saturation point now...

@bold...this is exactly what I was trying to say few days back. Without a good script, Barun Sanaya could not create the magic on their own. Yes they had good chemistry...but when the story lost its charm...so did arshi. It was just that we were addicted to them by then...so we watched the torture for them...no one was happy...even though we had so many arshi scenes! The characterization and script is what elevated the chemistry that Barun and Sanaya had. Similarly Barun and Sanaya's chemistry elevated the script and characterization. It was a combination of both that created the out of world magic. Just by themselves in another show with different characterization...may not create the same LEVEL of magic!

But if actors are good, offscreen equations do not matter always. In kasauti Shweta Tiwari and Cezaan Khan after their split did tneir roles convincingly onscreen. It was rumoured Rati does not have offscreen friendship with Arjun Bijlani, but Mayank- Nupur chemistry was reallly good.

Wahi tho Payal but if actors are good and matured to handle their professional commitments well they need not even be friends to do lead roles with each other and come out winners.

I really feel this chemistry thing is very overrated in IF specially and mostly limited to the only the leads thus narrowing the whole concept of acting.

I also feel that most of the viewers on IF do not know the basic difference between camaraderie between the leads and expect the leads to be involved with one another personally just because they do a fantastic work in the make-believe world of a TV show.

am i blabbering again🤔

yes and i felt really short changed as a viewer when their bond was not at all developed.. unke bond choro, whatever bond that had been developed between arnav-anjali was also butchered later on

absolutely, i always wanted mind-games and one-upmanship btwn them but never got it.. instead got Swami track and gobbar track and what not😕

how long can one keep taking in just eye lock scenes, even if you want your soaps to be full of eyesexing stuff, you gotta have a story to even portray that eyesexing stuff almost everyday

it takes a team, n specially the script n actor's understanding of the role... not just his view on his role,(typically important in serials is rather how well he is connecting with viewers... otherwise actors n viewers other than fans, will be like the bill board of "socha na tha " movie... one arrow to the west n one arrow to the east!

Since the time Arnav came back from kidnapping...the quality of the show plummeted...story wise...and many other things too. Yes we would watch it ONLY for Sarun...but we would not enjoy the tracks...would just tolerate them for Arshi. Yes their chemistry is what made us watch the crappy tracks...but the show lost many regular viewers (becoz chemistry alone cannot hold the a soap together)...I remember the complaints and dissatisfaction with the show on the forum kept increasing from July onwards... no one was happy with the way things were being shown. So chemistry between leads cannot make a show/movie hit. They need good content to use and bounce off of each other...to create that magic onscreen!

PS. 😛 And of course lights and camera angles helps to a great extent! Dialogues and music too!
