@mehak...I am hoping i will have a say in my wedding rituals...thankfully my dad listens to me these days so I am keeping my fingers crossed...actually since I am daddy's girl and I have for sure the coolest dad in the world who cringes at bringing up the topic of my marriage and has in fact asked me to not bother with marriage till I am 30, I am hoping to persuade him to just postpone it forever😛

Quite Rare yaar. They spend a lot on Marriages. And most of the parents want their Children's marriages to be grand. And me being a single child definitely my parents will want it to be grand and everything. So they will spend money of course!
But mostly people do grand marriages for show off. That is what I feel.Either to show off or afraid of what other people might say if we do a simple marriage!

So it seems like O and A levels are our equivalent of high school?

She needs to have a university degree in order to apply to the medical schools and there are core classes that are required.

Yaar iA she gets what she prays for and everything happens for the best but I'm going to talk strictly realistically here...medical school is really tough here..schools liek Harvard and other Ivy league schools are the most selective in both university and graduate degrees...require top notch grades. Like a MCAT score of 38 out of a possible 40 is what they require where most other, non-ivy league schools require an average of 31 out of 40.

Also, they accept very little international students..a handful for each class. I would suggest she try to do her University here as well if possible it would help her a lot with admissions

@Bold You have no idea about a Brahmin's marriage rituals yaara!
We don't spend much in Dowry but we spend a LOT in marriage. Our marriages take place for 3 days! Too much money goes into it and the groom's side won't spend anything(Mostly).Everything has to be done by the girl's side! That is why I don't like brahmin's marriage. They waste money in this.

Gayu our weddings go for 4 days... The first mayun is girls side, second day mehndi can be shared by both the parties, third day baraat is girls side and fourth and final day is walima totally boy's side.

yeah.. I know how much they spend.. its more for a show off.. I always recall this dialogue "For generations they must remember this marriage" 🤣 as if some body really cares about it 😆
