Here they make houses suitable for winter.. so roofs are sloping.. floors are wood or tile.. no concrete at all... and I especially look for houses that have carpetted floors.. and inside the buildings its like summer.. its just the few minutes that you go outside.. and also you get used after a while! Your body adjusts pretty quickly! And you wear layers to keep you warm.. so you won't freeze! 😊

Oh and Rahul.. I am sure you will be into skiing and stuff once you try it out.
If you embrace winter, you will love it.
I go snowshoeing and sometimes skating.. I am terrified of downhill-skiing!

And then there are ice-hockey matches!

peleazz don't remind me that 😆 I remember my nightmare day in Srinagar.. when I was freezing already & it started pouring buckets.. taxi broke down... so we were going by walk. There was no shed near by to rest for a while at the least 😆

Basically in the states before you can apply to any graduate school like Medical school/Law school you have to have an undergraduate degree.

So kids here do 12 years of highschool and graduate around 17/18 years old. Then they do 4 years of undergraduate and while you are in your 3rd year you would start applying to medical school. And then you do 4 years of medical school.

Does she want to do college here as well or just medical school? For medical school the test you need is the MCAT, which she would take towards the end of her 2nd or 3rd year..its up to her as there are plenty of dates to choose from,

The procedure may be a bit different for international students but for medical school i think its pretty much the same.

Let me know if you have specfic questions and can try to find out more

Mehek she will do medicine from there only... In England she will do her o levels at 16 and a levels at 18 after that she will go to Uni and will do her degree... So for Harvard can she do the mcat after a levels? Will they look for her whole high school record or just the o levels and a levels results and what grades would be enough to apply for Harvard?

Yeah, its kind of ridiculous how much desis spend. Not on the actual wedding but on the gifts and what not that have become rituals to give to the in-laws. Its pretty bad in Pakistan with just what the "norm" is to gift to each other before the wedding and its insane.

My first choice is to never get married. 😆

But second would be a small, intimate ceremony.

I will get neither...will have to get married and have a grand wedding as I'm the only daughter and my dad is set on giving away his brat with nothing short of OTT grandeur 😆 😆
