Here we take forever to get married. I hate to get up early in the morning. My relatives used to tease me that I will not get up early for my own wedding 😆 Some Telugu people will have weddings at night even NI i guess! I better marry one of them! 😆

We don't spend much in Dowry but we spend a LOT in marriage. Our marriages take place for 3 days! Too much money goes into it and the groom's side won't spend anything(Mostly).Everything has to be done by the girl's side! That is why I don't like brahmin's marriage. They waste money in this.

abbe don't blame everything on castes. It depends on one-self on how u wanna get married. I know more than 15 brahmin families who had a simple marriage.

Yeah, its kind of ridiculous how much desis spend. Not on the actual wedding but on the gifts and what not that have become rituals to give to the in-laws. Its pretty bad in Pakistan with just what the "norm" is to gift to each other before the wedding and its insane.

My first choice is to never get married.

But second would be a small, intimate ceremony.

I will get neither...will have to get married and have a grand wedding as I'm the only daughter and my dad is set on giving away his brat with nothing short of OTT grandeur

My god your poor dad... People love to get married to only girls and on top American national as well for such a huge dowry and grand wedding so that everybody just sing their praises for such a prized catch.
