Soundarya, Congrats !

Shri, I think i have found some answers here, so thanks!

Bhakti, You have covered a wide spectrum of philosophies/art/spirituality in a small write-up. I am really amazed at your intellect !!!

>> which of us has not one or the other morning woken up to think - what have I become? How has this happened, and without my awareness? How is this to be integrated with my heretofore seemingly seamless knowledge of my reality?

You have put this so aptly.

As far as art and psychology, I am totally ignorant and read with interest all this discussion, but don't have much to add.

For some reason, i do see a parallel here to the more spiritual idea of enlightenment. If there are differing planes of understanding, surely those who are more enlightened (through what mode I do not know, as it seems there are many and i myself have ever experienced this gift of consciousness) understand the actions of those around them as the karma appropriate to the individual's level of evolution.

Reg enlightenment & spirituality & RK
There are so many layers & thoughts in the mind, RK is dishonest to the outer world and so is each of us, to a lesser or greater extent, in small or big things. Basically everyone has a dichotomy in what we are & what we project outside. Just the degree of this discrepancy differs for each of us. Each individual has the same capacity as Madhu's love and RK's deceit, but differ in what is manifested.

Maybe that's why religion was created, so we could measure our outer actions to what is permissible morally.

About "I" - What am "I" ? "I" is not the mind, "I" is not the ego and "I" is not the body, therefore there must be something else other than this which is "I". Therefore "I" is the consciousness/being/divine energy.

I think enlightenment is when people recognize/experience this consciousness - everyone is part of the whole ( as body/mind/ego separate each of us ), that's why Buddha /Sai Baba/great saints have universal love as they perceive divinity in each being, there's no "I"/"You", it's we are all the same.
This is my understanding, but infinite grace is required to experience this. And when grace is there, it doesn't matter whether you are like valmiki/buddha, sinned/moral whatever.

@Zorica Didi please can you tell me how you are able to post photos here? (I don't mean your beautiful creations - I mean just for posting a photo from somewhere else on the web, as you have done with the paintings.) I cannot understand how this is done😕. Thank you😳

- Save the image to your computer;
- Go to tinipic; (http://tinypic.com/)
- Select a picture from your computer (Browse)
- Upload,
- Enter this text that says;
- Copy Direct Link for Layouts (picture 2);
- Paste the picture into a forum post.

Maybe there's an easier way, but I do not know.

Sorry about being absent guys- I've been sick (again- the weather change is giving me headaches, and I also threw up once. Ugh)
Any remedies that I can brew? It's not the flu so I can't take meds- just minor headaches.
Although, to be fair, I'm already feeling much better.
@Bhakti, Shri et all- I'm going to go through the posts and read everything fully so I can appreciate the beauty of your writings. Promise!😊

I am sorry you are feeling ill! You must ask Shri if you are outside of India - she has so many remedy suggestions for the differing weathers in the cold parts of the world! Please feel better soon (do try adrak for nausea it does work wonders!😛)

Hope it will soon be gone!😊

@Zorica -

"Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is." I have been thinking on this for two days! Please, what do you think he means by this?

Bhakti,

It's a philosophy, It forces you to constantly think about it.
This is a quote from "The Rebel." I liked the quote, and in my opinion means that we continually strive to be what we are not, we have often unrealistic dreams, not to see what is really, in fact we often shut our eyes in front of truth. It's good to strive to be better, but every extremity, including any over-ambition does not lead to anything good. All this prevents us from seeing the good in ourselves, and it prevents us to know God.
It is my view, and you can interpret it differently. 😊
