And to think, here, I come home at 4 in the morning, alone, without a care in the world when I want to stay back and study at the university.

I took buses all the time when I was in Delhi for about 6 months last year. Public buses are not unsafe. They are very safe - they have no curtains and their drivers and conductors are public employees.

This specific bus was a private bus that had no business taking in passengers. It was essentially used as a school bus during the day.

Seriously Hiru, I get home at all hours of the day and make runs to a 24 hour conventioneer store 3 in the morning.

My aunt was visiting from Pkaistan once, and I got home around 11 one day and she was amazed at the fact I felt safe being out so late or that my parents weren't freaked out either. And when I visited Pakistan, the girls aren't allowed to leave the house alone during the day, forget about staying out at night.

I see everyone's discussing the bus incident.
Has this become worse only in the past few years?

I remember when I was working in Hyd few years back, there was the attack on girls in the pub. That was the first incident of this kind where men had an issue with women hanging out with guys at night. I remember another one about another girl being attacked while walking with a guy friend at night. Then last year, the guys who were killed while protecting the girls they were with from eve-teasing. And then this.

Are women safe anywhere anymore?

ok was at a protest march yesterday and found it pardoxical and eerie for on the one hand we were demanding justice but on the other checking who was around us and with one eye on the clock that it did not get too late and the other saying woman have the right to feel safe it was quite a mixed bag for me
and death penalty is not the answer castration is
