The basic problem is in sub continent the notion that a woman is still somehow responsible for any kind of violence or sexual abuse inflicted on them by men, will have to change. And that change will take a long time to happen. Until then we will have many such women and girls who will be afraid to speak out. I have myself gone through a terrible experience, something I'm not comfortable talking about, and have realized over time that even if your family supports you wholeheartedly the society will continue to look at you differently.

The thing is my dad is not keen on the extended family thing his only concern are for his children and to him it was business and he knew the man in question. He tried explaining but I never understood at all. I could not hate my dad but I was upset with the fact that justice was not served and he help a criminal walk free. My mum was upset because it is her deceased sister's daughter but my dad was not concerned about that. All he was concerned about was helping his client but I said to him one day he will regret it because that man will do it again because he keeps getting away the same thing over and over again.
