Yeah when i was in hostel my room mate use to do that . I have to kick him out . Its extremely nauseating in real life if someone is doing it in front of u.

There are many thing to be taken in consideration -
1. First of all don't talk in front of someone unless absolutely necessary. If you get the call u can always excuse yourself to some secluded place.
2. Don't talk about cheesiest and the crappiest thing to ur girlfriend in front of anyone. In my xperience my room partener and his G.F use to give every second detail of their entire day schedule to each other.🤢
3.And if ur talking then make sure ur room partner is completely asleep or listening to music with his earplug on. Believe me i seriously wish i have not heard many thing about my room partners love life.🤢
