The Vampire Diaries writers are going to butcher Damon/Elena during the next season; I just know it. Why do tween shows have to rely so heavily on superficiality? TVD has released a preview clip of the couple for the upcoming season premiere in September. It shows Elena looking for Damon at his house. Suddenly, he shows up naked. She gasps and looks away; he reminds her with a flirtatious smirk that she should learn to knock, for he could be indecent. I mean, really? He was on his deathbed in the previous episode! He had professed his love to her. In spite of being in a relationship with another guy, she gave him a goodbye kiss thinking that it would be their last encounter and she wouldn't have to face the consequences of that kiss. Two seconds later they found out he was going to live after all. That wouldn't classify as an award winning cliffhanger, but still you would expect something meaningful to be released as the "preview clip" after that. Who wants to see a sexually charged scene that outlines the physical tension surrounding their love/hate relationship? There's a time and place for everything. Clearly, these folks missed the memo.
I know nobody watches TVD here but I needed an outlet to vent. :P
@bold: Tell me about it.
I just watched the preview after I read your post. Disappointing! Somewhere I did see this coming at the end of last season. I still hope TVD turns out decent. I really don't want to give up on the show. Sometimes I think the best love stories are ones that are very distant, silent, slightly boring, yet there is something more it, which isn't expressed. When the leads know they can count on each other without the stares, trip-catch, and whatnot. When it comes to TV shows the couple should never get together, because that's when everything goes wrong. I wish they were more realistic. Life isn't full of sunshine and cute moments.
