Fivr...that was really a heart breaking scene. I felt so, so bad for Dushyant. SS was beyond brilliant in that scene...his expressions when Kesar exploded out the truth...wow! What a POWERFUL scene...I was amazed at the acting, the flow, the sheer magnanimous DRAMA of that scene. It had the right punches, without being melodramatic...Kesar's outburst was understandable...his anger at the money mess-up, old feelings coming back to surface, Dushyant's thappar aggravating him more...everything came boiling out of him...Neil acting was ZABARDAST!! I was left awed at the scene sachi.

Honestly, for me it's the BEST show on Indian TV right now.

It's new face Keerti Nagpure who is paired opposite Sameer Soni inColors' Parichay..

Balaji Telefilms' upcoming show on Colors, Parichay has finally bagged its female lead, after an extensive hunt. Prachi Deshmukh who shot to fame as the young Taani in Ekta's Tere Liye was to play the girl who gives a second lease of life to the male lead, who is lost in his own world after going thro' a failed marriage. However, there is a change in casting now!

We hear that a new face to Hindi television, Keerti Nagpure has been roped in to play the lead in the show now.

Our source states, "Though the girl Keerti is new to Hindi TV, she has played the lead in Star Pravah's popular show Olakh. She essays the role of Siddhi, a very simple and middle class girl who enters the life of the male lead (Sameer Soni) after his rich lawyer wife leaves him".

When contacted, Keerti confirmed the news to TellyBuzz stating, "Yes, I am playing the main lead in the new Balaji show".

Parichay launches on Colors on the 9th of August and will take the 9.30 pm slot...

Vasu - Sonam looks both gorgeous and graceful in a saree - her acting skills notwithstanding ... I think she should consider just plain, simple modeling ... like you said, she is such a fashionista!

Anu - Thank you for that review! I plan to watch ZNMD this weekend. From what I've heard, it is a feel good movie as well. BALH is BLAH indeed! Cannot wait for Ram and Priya's marriage to happen. But even then, I do not have any high hopes - perhaps I will give this serial a few more chances before I officially back off! Look forward to watching Parichay though ... so a new female lead is going to step in, huh? They just keep getting younger and younger ... ironically Olakh means Pehchan or Parichay

Amy - Hello there! How are we doing today?

LOL...I knoww! Waise sach yeh hai keh after I have seen the kind of reactions Gulaal gets due to its 'unconventional' story, I won't recommend it to anyone. Lucky for us we connected with the show and appreciate it for what it is.

Anyway, did you watch today's epi. SS toh aaj sab par bhari par gaya...PHENOMENAL acting. Manoj Joshi was veryy good too. What powerful actors have these ppl got...Another amazing epi! Ab kal Gulaal ki shamat.

I'll come back later if I can manage...

Yeah just finished watching it...It was Dushyant's epi through and through and SS was seriously phenomenal...especially that beginning bit when MB is asking him to say it's not true, say it's not true and the way they interpresed it with FBs of Dushyant remembering the time when he dragged Vasant and threw him over the bridge...seriously superbly executed scene.

And precap mein looks like Kesar is back to "koi meri Gulaal ko kuch nahin kahega" mode😆...but ugghhh at the new PB...kya evil expressions de rahi thi Gulaal ko😕😆...I miss the old PB.

As for recommending Gulaal to anyone...LOL yeah, no point...I toh can't even explain to LTL fans why scripting-wise Gulaal is superior...toh baaki logon ko kya samjhaaun😆

Yes, The Kesar is back! I love the way he was taking Gulaal away so she won't have to hear all the taanas...I think he didn't expect the domino effect his outburst would have. Kuch bhi ho Gulaal ko koi kuch na boley...

@bold... LTL ofcourse was different than Gulaal...totally different but only a person who has seen ONLY LTL can believe it was better than Gulaal script-wise...because it's not an opinion Anu...it's a FACT that Gulaal is wayyy better than LTL script-wise. It has a more, a much more crisp script than LTL for sure.

@bold: Exactly, Mash...and honestly I've LOVED LTL and I'm not taking anything away from it...but like you said it's just a FACT that Gulaal is faaar better scripting-wise...I've honestly NEVER seen a daily soap with such good pacing and such fantastic characterization for all the characters! LTL I've loved for SOME of the characters...but overall the show lagged MANY times in the scripting department...MANY times...I still remember the painful phases when I was put off enough to not even want to watch for a couple of weeks.

But that hasn't happened with Gulaal...and not just cuz it's only been a month and a half since I started watching it regularly but even going back and watching all the epis...in 3 months, these ppl have told SO much story that most shows don't manage to in YEARS.

And I've spoken with ppl who've watched ONLY LTL...and they actually don't even want to consider that Gulaal is better script-wise...lol...so I guess there's no point going down that road.

Till this date, even Fivr refuses to answer whenever I've asked her this question😆

Each show is special in it's own way...I'm not even trying to make this a comparison contest but I find it sad when ppl refuse to give Gulaal a chance based on pre-conceived notions about whether it's as good as LTL or not...I honestly do think it's such a sad waste...this is a GEM of a show...the type of show that only come along once in a blue moon...and if your own prejudices keep you from even watching this properly, it's just sad...I've actually been there, done that...which is why I find it even more of a sad waste given what ppl are missing out on...I regret not having watched this show earlier.

*Edit: What sets Gulaal apart is the 'just right' dose of elements they put into the storyline, the scenes...no wastage of words, of actions...everything is to the point and it hits the target of what it is supposed to...no dithering around...a great example is this Dushyant revelation scene just now...like you said, no unnecessary melodrama...but still so hard hitting, emotional...you feel the emotions of all the characters involved without unnecessary repetition of dialogues or camera angles...and still the story moved forward...like it always does.

Hein..? You've asked me this question..? Dude, I seriously don't remember.. 😕😳 I guess I may just have missed your posts entirely because if I had read them, I would have told you that I do agree with Gulaal being a better show script-wise. I mean the way everything is planned, the pace of the show and the fact that EVERY scene/track has a direction which helps move the show and the story forward in some way - I don't think that is something LTL can compete with.. But then like you said, it's not a competition. LTL apni jagah hai aur Gulaal apni jagah.. And really Gulaal has a better execution of story and plots (LTL toh ghaseet ghaseet k pagal kar deta tha aur upar sey there were times when people were left wondering why the delay) - Gulaal's so precise and absolutely detailed at the same time in its story telling k really, I have no qualms in saying k Gulaal is a better show script wise, character wise and story development wise. And obviously that doesn't mean that I love LTL any less - it's just what it is.. I still love LTL for what it was - the charm that it brought and the way the characters came together, but yaar it cannot be denied that LTL did have it's share of "what in the hell?!" type characters and story tracks. Upar sey the delay in track execution was always a tab bit extra. I mean sure it served some purpose in the show to develop the story, but the fact was that THAT same track could have been developed in fewer episodes - which is something Gulaal is clearly an ace at...
So yeah, to me I love both Gulaal and LTL, but Gulaal is the better show and that's just a fact.. 😆
*runs back to lurk and finish lab work* 😆
