@Dan-Emma-Rupert --true that! Word to everything you two said. We have grown up watching them grow up as Harry-hermione-ron all these years and so for me, when i picture the characters, their faces and voices come to my mind. I'm so glad that the they didn't pick any American kids for the roles. The fact that they kept the cast very British sort of preserved the authenticity of the characters who are indeed very much British.
I think that the series ought to have some sort of recognition now after the finale. Those films, no matter how flawed they might have been, they have done a tremendous job taking the words from the books and converting it to scenes. The sets have been AMAZING! Stuart Craig totally deserves an Academy Award for creating such amazing sets from just descriptions in the books. Even JKR was in awe when she walked in to the Great Hall set and said that whatever she imagined while writing about was what she saw.
The music has been very nice as well.. who can ever forget John Williams composed Hedwig's theme?! I guess it's how the Star Wars generation feels about the Imperial theme...or the LOTR themes. If LOTR can get recognition after the release of its finale, so can HP right?!
Besides, Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape throughout the series as a stern professor with a dark edge to him and then that culminating to his sacrifice in this last one totally deserves a nomination, right?!
