LOL yeah like I said they were like MEGA CONSERVATIVE.....well a lot of the women removed their burqas in the women's only section but if any man happened to walk by outside the door, they'd rush to cover their faces and heads😕😆.....like the caterers were walking in and out of the hall with the food preps and some of them would be men and these women would jump to cover their faces😆

The partition really did feel quite weird to me....I hadn't expected that😆.....I guess it depends from community to community na yaar....like some Muslims are quite liberal about many things are some are ultra conservative....so it varies.

Wow.. I'm quite shocked.. 😆 I mean women love weddings coz they get to wear those fancy clothes and all.. Burqas kinda spoil that.. But chalo, their belief.. 😆 Here, 2 years before, my cousin got married in winter.. and it was damnnnn cold.. Yahan k hisaab se atleast.. and women didn't wear sweaters coz kapray chup rahay thay..

Yeah you're right.. Everyone has different thinkings.. *shrugs*

*Edit: Anu, got a link to Manav-Archana scene? Ones which you're using as your avi.. Just feel like seeing it.. 😳

*Edit again: and I told you na, its Khali's turn to leave now.. He's been nominated this week along with Dolly and Sara.. Ab in 2 nautankis ne toh nikalna nahi.. Bacha bechare Khali ji! *sigh*

Just curious Nimrah, Mash, Zainu, Fivr and others - how many of your have to wear burqas everyday?

Whew Anu! I read the entire 7-8 pages of that SGP discussion forum and I was exhausted. So people not liking direct criticism? Well no one does actually. We all live in a world where it is ingrained in us that we have to "soften the blow". So when people come face-to-face with those who dare to bare all, they cannot handle it. Without preaching to the choir or "batooing gyan" Anu - all I can say is - don't feel bad over few people's myopia. You have a lot more supporters and friends elsewhere, here at this CC for example - people who value you for what you are and not mincing your words when you want to make a point. It is a rare trait that I wish to possess myself.

I've never worn a burqa in my life ever.. I toh hardly cover my head.. My ammi keeps on telling me to.. but I don't! 😆 Even all my friends, they don't wear burqas.. just scarves.. Its just my aunt whom I've seen wearing a burqa when she's travelling in buses.. But then, maybe we're too liberal according to the standards set by some people.. 😆

@LadyM: I hope I don't offend anyone, but I don't see a point to wearing the burqa, at least not in the western countries 🤔. Middle East ya back in Pakistan and India, I can understand the need - it's cultural and I totally understand that. But living in America or Canada or any part of Europe, a burqa's really not needed. Because the whole purpose of a hijab is to not attract attention to yourself and to be modest. Ab app poori busy street mein sir sey paon tak ka kala burqa pehen k ghoomo gai toh lazmi hai k har koi goorey ga! You can dress modest and still fit in without wearing a burqa or a jilbab or something. A simple and decent (i.e. not skin-tight or barely there) wardrobe ensemble would do the trick just fine.. But that's just my opinion.. 😆
And in my house, no one is really forced to do anything as far as dress code goes. As long as we dress in a shareefana way and we act decent, kuch bhi pehnlo! Covering the head is not something that's strictly enforced. I mean I am the only one in my poori family (extended family included) that even covers her head. But mere toh reasons bhi aur they.. 😆

Aur bhi reasons like? 😆 But yeah I totally agree with your POV. Wearing a hijab in a western country is definitely gonna attract attention.. 😛

My mother started wearing scarf, when she went for Umra. She keeps on saying tum bhi pehen lia karo, at times, but I'm like nahhh. 😆

Everyone was in burqas even though there was a divider b/w the men and women section? Weird...like Nimrah said...even if some women wear burqas they usually remove it in a wedding specially in a segregated wedding. Every wedding on the maternal side of my family have separate sections for women and men...but there isn't any divider as such..just a partition of sorts but you can see the men on the other side. I think they didn't do Nikah in the hall, just the signing of the Nikah Namaa...yeah that usually happens....the girl's Nikah is done a day before the wedding reception...and the groom's Nikah is done in a mosque...then there's a wedding reception where everyone just show off their clothes and take pictures n EAT..haha

Nimrah...Honestly speaking even I would not wear sweaters in a wedding...yaaaaar...kapre chupte hain...😆 😆 We are really obsessed with clothes...haina?

That's very kind of you to say that, LadyM and I'm glad to have you all as friends here in this CC too but to me it isn't that I need to have supporters to value me or something but I don't appreciate ppl acting two faced and hypocritical with me and that is what I found the most disgusting in that thread when ppl were trying to pull two faced nautanki with me blatantly and then trying to act like innocent angels🤢.....And overall they all just seem to have it in for me for god only knows what reason.....petty minded ppl that they are.....the funny part though definitely is how they changed their colors and suddenly my sarcasm was poison to them cuz it was directed at SGP and certain idiotic poem spouting losers in the forum....isse pehle THESE very ppl would APPLAUD me if I maaroed a sarcastic taana about say a show like Pratigya etc......really pathetic what double standards these ppl have....like that Shounak used to literally PM me crap about Pratigya all the time to bitch about it like I have nothing better to do in my life😆....and look at how he's talking to me now.....utter nonsense.
