LOLLL she said it struck a chord with her....I think she gets fascinated by wedding rituals and stuff in general....I toh found it weird....little things like the PEACH lipstick they put on dark Nakku and the fact that they made it a half-Maharastrian and half-Marwardi wedding looked weird to me....ofcourse biggest thing for me was the way she went into it with a lie....that was constantly at the back of my mind and I couldn't look at the wedding as a seperate thing....

Overall if I try to view it as a seperate event from the storyline, yes the wedding was done in a sober, simpler fashion than most TV weddings.....so I'll give them that......but the reasoning and how it unfolded put me off.

They married Nakku off to Dutta without telling him of her real 'color' because they thought he would be angry and probably call off the wedding...right? Aur shadi ke baad kiya??!! He won't be angry? He would accept her in her real color because she's his WIFE?! Dutta agar Nakku ko shadi ke baad chodde..phir kya kareingi AS aur Babi? Idiots!

Lol, yaar itna ghussa hai tabhi dekh nahi paa rahi show ko. I mean how am I supposed to sit there and watch the women of that house come up with absurd reasons for why a man should be tricked into marrying someone.. It makes my blood boil just thinking about this. Woh banda aik hi baat bol bol k thuk gaya k don't lie to me, tell me the truth! And ye log wohi behoodgi karey jaa rahey hain. Hadh hoti hai.
@bold: That has pissed me off so much! SO much! The whole idea k once he marries you then he HAS to forgive you and everything will be good - that just goes over my head entirely. Ye kis ka mahan logic hai - wait, don't answer that. Ye jaap pehley Baabi ne shuru kiya tha and I'm sure AS continued it! Arey if he is upset about being betrayed then you think that you should prolong YOUR betrayal of him and tell him later? Ye koi nahi soochta k usko jhoot pasand nahi toh jald sey jald sacch bolain.. Nahi ye soochte hain k saach bolne k liye aik aisa time dhoondain jahan woh beechara corner ho chuka ho and he can't do "much" to retaliate. Well then karo corner aur jab woh frustration mein panja marey toh rona dhona na dalna phir! 🤬

Objectively I'd say it was an OK wedding....mujhe objection toh yeh hai keh why were ppl raving about it so much? Oh well to each its own.

Oh, acha they mixed two ethnic wedding rituals? Mujhe toh Hindu mariages ke bare main bus yeh pata hai that they get married if the guy puts sindur on the girl's maang, gives her a mangulsutra or do those seven pheres with her...hogai shadi....lol...

Heyy...do you ppl get married in the same way?

LMAOOO wohi toh......honestly she looked a bit alien-like to me in that PEACH lipstick on top of all her soot.....was making her look kinda clown-ish😆😕.....these ppl never seem to get the lipstick shade right....kabhi dark red and now this PEACH😆

Oh she most definitely looked better in the first wedding....honestly they should NEVER put lipstick on Nakku.....whether dark or fair.....doesn't suit her....she looks the best without it and at the most some gloss.

I think ppl were raving about the simplicity of it maybe.....guess that struck a chord with some ppl and then some ppl are also more emotionally attached to this love story toh maybe they just got happy seeing DN happy😕😆

Yeah they mixed two cultures.....a Maharashtrian wedding doesn't have the groom wearing a giant pagdi on his head😆....they wear this kind of hat....and the bride wears a sari, never a lehenga....technically since LTL is based on Maharashtrian ppl, they should have done a pure Maharashtrian wedding, which they didn't :S.....I've learnt all this about Maharashtrian weddings through Pavitra Rishta😆.....watching Archana's wedding, then Varsha's, then Vaishu's.....mujhe sab by-heart yaad ho gaya hai😆😆

The only thing they used from the Maharashtrian wedding wwere those dangly pearl strings that they were wearing on their foreheads I think. The costumes were Marwaadi otherwise. .....it was still a Hindu wedding....but the customs and rituals of each community differ.

LOL we ppl? You mean Sikh ppl? No we don't really get married in the same way.....only thing a bit common are the pheras.....we take four of them.....and they aren't around a fire.....we take them around our holy book in the Gurudwara (our temple if you want to call it that)......there's no sindoor, mangalsutra etc. involved....it's a very simple ceremony....they read out some hymns from the scriptures and then we take the pheras....each phera symbolizing a promise/bond b/w the husband-wife....that's about it.

Acha acha I get what you mean I have seen Archana's wedding too...rightttt! They do wear saris n all. And I think Prerna and Anurag used to get married (5-6 weddings in total) that way too...haina? Or am I mixing it up....hmmm...

Achaaa...you take only four pheras...seeee, I didn't know that. I thought you guys have the same rasams too....I don't remember seeing any Sikh weddings in Indian films? What do you wear? Anything?

Oh and I know you call your temple Gurudwara...itni info toh hai mujhe..

LOLLL no yaar Prerna-Anurag got married in the Bengali ishtyle.....haha....they drape their saris differently and the men wear a dhoti-kurta I think and they have like these white mukut like things on their heads, not the dangly strings😆.....but the one similar thing I guess was that white cloth that they put in b/w....Maharashtrian ppl seem to put the white cloth and Bengali ppl seem to do that leaves waali thing with the bride being carried in by her brothers etc. holding two leaves in front of her eyes and then removing them or something.

Wow thank you Ekta for increasing my knowledge of varying wedding cultures in India so much or I'd have had no idea of any weddings other than Punjabi ones all my life....haha

@bold: Anything???!! What are you trying to imply here? That we get married NAKED?!😲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

LOL we wear lehengas and sherwanis yaar....typical north indian wedding attire.....it can vary a bit....some brides wear suits instead of lehengas but aajkal toh pretty much everyone wears lehengas....and yeah the guys always wear sherwanis.....lol

Don't know about LTL, but THAT is quite right Anu! Since I am the resident Maharashtrian, I can attest to the fact :-) Maharashtrian weddings are very very simple. The girl wears a yellow saree that is gifted to her by her Mama/maternal uncle. Both the bride and the groom wear the pearl strings on the forehead called "mundavlee". The bride and groom and separated by a curtain, while the hymns are being chanted. Once the hymns finish, there is a garland ceremony where the bride and the groom adorn each other with floral garland/jaymala. After the garland ceremony, there are the seven pheras around the fire, ending with the Mangal Sutra ceremony. As far as I remember, there is no sindoor ceremony either. Somewhere in between, there is a Kanya Daan ceremony, where the parents "give away" the bride .... 😃

Edit: There are definitely no lehengas or shararas or salwars. It has to be a saree - a combination of yellow and red, symbolizing haldi kumkum.
