about the batman costume, i forgive the cv's,

i forgive them for giving me headache for two weeks with non-sense, i forgive them for showing MN as kindergarten kids & i whole-heartedly forgive them for making mayank wear a batman costume and causing my love for batman to go out the window.

coz yesterday MN were awesome, heavenly, totally out of the world. you are right, love is a disease and a contagious one. i so wanted to fall in love & get married after that epi *sigh* i could have said yes to just about anyone😳 really, MN\arti should be banned for causing mental imbalances in people😕🤣

ok i have gone nuts, but yesterday's epi was seriously mesmirizing, beautiful, scintillating. then i remembered it might end soon and that pissed me off considerably😔

if mjht ends in dec, there will be some 50 odd epi's more (oh yes, i did the mathi am such a pathetic despo) *sigh* when i think of mjht ending, after MN\arti, i will miss the forum most, yeah i dont like it much & stay away from it, but i had a lot of fun there, made friends, met wonderful people

ok before i say something sappy, coming to the point, when will you watch mjht, it is ending you see, surely you would not want to miss the ending. i suggest the best time to start again is today that is yesterday's epi😍😍 it was one of the best epi's on MN, brief update:

it is MN first date anniversary, mil jaye do jahan *ahem* you know that song is quite nice, i realised that yesterday⭐️⭐️

, last time i was busy staring at horse & violin cut-outs *shudders*🤣

so nupur forgets it & mayank remembers it, he gets her a pendant which was pretty, t then he comes to know she forgot it, he writes her a letter saying, for 3 yrs, he was celebrating it alone missing her & this year he is happy that she is back & he loves her (the smile on nupur's face is priceless, she is adorable really😍)

then she tries to manofy him while he does nautanki☺️😍 man they were dreadfully cute there. mayank then does his trademark back-hug😳😆 and they patch-up *EEEEEEEEEEEEE*. oh and the best part is yet to come, they both say i love you at the same time *double EEEEEEEEEE* then they do a small dance, there was a bit where mayank stands on the bed & showers rose petals on nupur, that was funny & cute & endearing & charming & adorable & *EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE again*

i was blushing like an idiot through out, i never thought MN would get such lovely scenes. even if mjht ends i will always remember these & hyperventilate😆😳 watch it sabah and i think we should visit shilpa aunty thread again, a thread that wonderful should get a proper homage.

about MN bringing together or ArTi, i am not sure but i think it is ArTi, they have a natural chemistry & compatability which is unmatched by all other couples i saw, i can make a wager that the same scene would not be half as good with any other couple.

about bones, i quit for a few epis, booth making out with hannah on a regular basis is grossing me out, their scenes burned into my retina🤢🤢 i dont even want to see booth's face in my avi now😡

As we had promised the TT readers, we interviewed Gautam Hegde, the writer of the popular youth show: Miley Jab Hum Tum (MJHT). Gautam's interview is surely an interesting read and the writer seems very aware about the fan following for his show, as well as the requests, demands, and complaints of the fans. Furthermore, to commemorate the landmark of 500 episodes by MJHT, he spills some secrets about the show. Read the interview to find out more.

1. How do you balance between the parallel love tracks on your show considering fans are always complaining their favorite leads never get enough screen time?

I don't think we ever manage a fine balance, but we do try. The reason being that at any given point, each couple becomes a supporting element to the other track. Sometimes Mayank and Nupur's track needs a support from Samrat and Gunjan and sometimes it's the other way round. Also, what happens is that when an episode, due to its treatment and the screen time, spills into two. So even though an episode was written with 12 scenes in mind with 6 each for the two main couples, on air, with the spillover, it may seem like one couple got more scenes. However, it's never intended. Mere liye toh sabhi mere bacche hai! It's not intentional.

2. What is your take on adding film songs to further the story? How much do they contribute to increasing the TRPs?

I think it always makes a scene or a sequence more interesting. But in Miley Jab we have also done original songs which have become popular. In fact, if I ever have to think from Gunjan's point of view, I start humming or think of the Kya Hua Yeh song. Isn't it so soulful? I love the lyrics and composition.
Songs do contribute to the ratings, but at the end of the day, it's always been content over a gimmick that works. Although, here I must say, today when I think of Khuda Jaane, it's the Miley version that I remember and not the original one. And Ishq Hua from Aaja Nachle is another favourite with the entire team because the song was executed in one single shot. There was no cut, so it required a lot of coordination of movement, lighting changes and choreography. And hats off to the guy who held the camera so beautifully on his shoulder and captured it. It took 7 odd rehearsals and 3 takes to get it right. Can you imagine how much his shoulder would have hurt? But he was only too happy, and so were we with the end result! :)

3. The story of MJHT has stagnated; as writers don't you feel discouraged when you have to write the same kind of scenes over and over again with just a few detail changes?

Hmm, interesting question. It's been over 500 episodes now! Itna college maine apni zindagi mein khud nahi attend kiya hoga! See, the brief of the channel is to stick to the college, because MJHT is the only show that sets itself apart from a Geet and Odhni which are into a family space. So yes there are times when we feel restricted and feel that we have explored so much, and now what? But daily soap hai so we keep trying comedy, romance, and drama. Sometimes, some things work, some don't. We learn and move on to the next week.

4. What is your take on the increasing demand for romantic scenes between lead couples on screen? An episode without these scenes (no matter how content rich) is received with disappointment.

The demand never dies. Baap re! The kind of mails one gets - ek episode mein ek couple ka scene aaya toh dusre couple ke fans feel we are being partial! We try to keep moments alive. And who doesn't like to see romance? Itney cute characters and such good looking faces. So, it's a justified demand. But moments ka overdose nahi hona chahiye... They should come unexpected. Tabhi mazaa hai.

5. When and how do you know if a serial's life time is over? Surely one can't keep on dragging a show, and deviating from the character sketches.

It's a subjective question. It's the channel that takes a call on the show coming to a closure. No one wants a show to drag. Why would we want to destroy something we created with all heart? But yes, like any other show, it's the law of diminishing marginal utility. A show will seem its freshest and best in the first year and then slowly it may seem like it's losing its charm. But as a team, we try to keep the polish glowing! From our side sabko, i.e. Sam, Nupur, Mayank, Gunjan, Dodo, Diya, Benjy, CJ, Annie, Chacko, Shilpa, Chinu the canteen guy, Shukla, Saxena, Aha, Bui, Bauji, Sheena, RV, pyaar se likha hai.

6. Will Samrat and Gunjun ever get married in the show?

They took one whole year to realise and proclaim love to each other! At that rate, man, I wonder when will they get married? I think they will be in their 60's and still Samrat and Gunjan will be great friends: he will help her find her glares, she will help him find his dentures, and she will read out the sports page for him as he feeds the cats! He won't be able to walk much as he would have fallen down the balcony ladder at the age of 63 and broken his hip bone! And then after having their bina shakkar wali chai, he will say in a coughing manner: ahoo ahoo, Chashmish, tum shaadi karogi? And Gunjan will be like: phir kabhi Samrat!

7. Mayank and Nupur fans are highly disappointed with the current track. They feel that the characters of Mayank and Nupur are being butchered tremendously. There's no stability in their characters. Comment.

I sometimes get mails about how Mayank suddenly becomes over romantic and Gunjan's becoming all brave, but I think we need to realize that people evolve. The most boring person will have his mood swings when he will be enthusiastic about something. So if a guy sings in a bath tub for a romantic date with his wife, I think that much benefit of doubt can be given. He can have excitement in his life, can't he? In a film, we show characters evolve such as Jab We Met, where we accepted how Aditya evolved. On TV, I think somewhere we are so used to stereotyping ki character aisa nahi karega, ek hi type ke kapde pehnega…sisa thodi na hota hai ki roz ladkiyaan ek hi style ki salwar kameez pehenti hai? Par TV pe it happens.It should change one day though. We try to retain the essence of the character, but after 3 years, if he's the same as episode 1, then where is the groW*H, right? But intrinsically, the souls remain as they were in episode 1.

Also, I got a feedback about how Nupur suddenly came back to a normal space after the Dhruv incident and how Mayank should have, through a process, got her back to normalcy. Trust me, we had discussions about this, but sometimes, we have to go with what the entire team feels. At that time, the track had a lot of gloom, so we did a moment or two to justify the same, and moved into a lighter space with the whole Cristina, the maid Amba and bath tub date episode. And we got a good feedback for that as well. Also, it's not a show in real time. So, we need to move to the next story. Is liye…

8. Why can't Gunjan ever apologize to Samrat? Recently, she blamed Samrat for her sister's death and acted horribly with him, but now that Nupur is back shouldn't she apologize to Samrat? Isn't she guilty of causing him pain and acting rudely?

I buy this and we will keep this point forward. But again, it should come as a nice moment. Right now, they are not in their 'love zone'. Currently, they are platonic and later their chemistry will soar up which is when this should come. You know it's like somethings are best left unsaid. I wouldn't want my best friend to say sorry to me. I would rather he or she mean it in the way he or she behaves, and then one day it's just that one receptive hug that says a lot without having to say much? Achha lagega na aisa moment?

9. Nupur has been through a lot recently, and yet we don't see much support from her husband or from her sister. They both cried for her when she was presumably dead, and completely changed themselves. However, now those two same people refuse to accept her in college. Isn't that quite unrealistic and inconsistent?

They don't refuse to accept her, at least not Gunjan. It's just a bit awkward. Like, have you heard of those teachers whose kids are in the same school? How it becomes awkward for them…hence it was that space, and now, the track is evolving. Keep watching.

10. Is the show ending, and if not then what should one expect for the future?

Shubh Shubh bolo! Dassera hai! Agar kuch bura laga ho, toh Raavan samajh ke jala do aur keep watching for the acchaai! Happy festival wishes.

11. Any messages for the fans?

Keep loving the show. We like both our couples as we watch it as a show. The creative team is not partial to a particular jodi. A lot of decisions are taken keeping in mind a lot of practical issues from budgetary constraints to time limits, to artistes' dates and lack of time. A daily soap is tough. Also, sometimes, it's just unfair how fans view everythng from an artist's pint of view. If a scene is good, wah, kya sahi perform kiya and if a scene is bad, chee, creatives suck! I mean, hello, it's the same creative team and the same artists. So, please, let's be fair to everyone on the show and not be judgmental about it. Also, to all those who make those nice videos and write detailed transcripts, good work guys! Par considering a lot of you are students, aap log padhaai kab karte ho? Koi na, changa!

Here, some trivia for you since we turned 500. :)

The working title of the show was Bade Bade Sheher, Chhotey Chhotey Sapnay.. Arjun had tested for Samrat's part. Navina tried the maximum number of wigs for the show. Jaskaran Singh was the first actor amongst the 6 of them who got finalized for the show. Annie, Benjy and Chacko were the quintessential A, B, C around Diya. But we decided to give B for Benjy to Samrat. I still don't know what Benjy's full name is!!

he is well-informed, i give him that, they know MN fans call them biased, wanted a recovery track & MN character butchering. SG fans wanted confrontation. too bad they dont do anything about it, hence they get jhootas.

sabah, even he is saying the same thing, the shelf-life of any show is max 1 year, after that it depends upon the love & patience of the audience.

i want to believe him when he says he loves both couples equally, mjht is his brain-child, someone who would mention even canteen ka chinu would surely love the show & not treat it like mere work.

his answer to SG marriage is umm..... is he saying SG will not get married in this life-time❓ they are one star-crossed couple.

LMAO @ romance part, true cute characters, good-looking actors & add sizzling chemistry, cant blame audience really, but only if it is something like yesterday's, not the original do dil ek jaa

I love the way u both love Mayank :-) I have met various people who love Mayank and I noticed one thing in common, that there is nothing in "common" among all the people who love him..strange how that works..u and sabah r different, so are the others ..and u love Mayank in ur own ways, its interesting to see as an outsider..not that i dont like mayank or anything, but my liking seems to be different in that sense. (I often wonder y :S ) Like some people like him for Arjun, others like him for his sadupan, yet some others love him for the husband he is , yet others as the kind of person he is ..hmmm :)nice..

I saw the scenes in the batman costume, it wasnt so bad oh yeah, I ve become more than open to the stuff cvs show 😆 ..there isnt much i can do..but i think the reason he wore it and the way he protested and more importantly the way he carried it off, I liked. then again, I wudve preferred it infinitely more if he were in normal clothes, but hey...after seeing the day anniversary u expect me to be critical? 😆..

ahh the cut outs, even they seem charming as i get nostalgic ...I m sure we'll end up getting all sappy after all this and remember even the cardboard stuff with only love...sigh...

about the situation...I can so imagine Mayank remembering the day he found the most precious "gift" of his life...

The way they showed Mayank going thru his life without Nupur was really tough on the heart, even though I saw only in some VMs and never ventured to watch beyond, and later some pics ..gut wrenching it was :( ...

I agree with u on this one being a biased arti fan and I became one only cos of them..so competition has not gotten anywhere near them in my opinion... they are natural..its a gift

and they drive u insane with it 😆..also i have seen gr8 scenes becoming damp squibs owing to the inability of the actors to pull it off, here there is no such fear..

A gr8 scene by these 2 becomes almost classic!! :)

qualities i like in mayank

he is smart, sensible, responsible, grounded & marches to his own rhythm & he has a real cool swagger😍 errr scratch that, mayank NOT arjun, i forgot.I think that can be classed under Mayank. For isn't Mayank's walk different from Aalekh and maybe even Arjun, although you would know better, and I am not giving you permission to analyze this either.

he has a sarcastic sense of humour, my favorite kind.Best Mayank line? Although we have already discussed this, let us examine one more time! I loved that line to dia, the one about where do you speak from?

i love the fact that fact that the only people who can get to him are his mom & nupur.And Cj and Tamana mam. All women, all smart and intelligent!

i love the complexity of his character, he is shown to be cold, aloof, distant, practical etc. but his emotions run more deep than anyone else. he is fiercely protective, possessive & loyal about his loved ones.That whole 'ladki ke paas mat jaana' and of course chirunji. I always pictured how his reaction would have been if a man suddenly took an interest in shilpa aunty. Sorry I have to take a break and think about this for a while. It does the heart good! 😳

i love coz he has flaws *muaaaah* his gigantic ego, insolence, self-righteousness, him being rigid, a huge control freak, volatile temper, it makes him so much more fun.Like the wind that is cooling upon a hot summer's day but can twist and blow you off your feet upon a whim!

you know, mayank is self-destructive in a way, he is so capable of pushing everyone away & building a cocoon around himself.I am writing an FF on this for Archana.

albus dumbledore- i read the whole HP series for him, all 7 parts. him & snape were two characters who caught my attention, i always thought snape will turn into anti-hero who will save the day & it happened, but dumbledore caught me by surprise. he is mysterious yet simple, dark but noble, human yet hero all the same. he has so many layers, one of the best i read in recent times⭐️I never watched HP. It was on late one new years eve, so I watched one, I can't remember which one, and it began to get really scary, so I switched off, even though sky was there to protect me. Yes, I know it is meant for children and that I am quite the coward.

dont watch movies sabah, they are BLAH! read the books , i bet you will love them

howard roark: i am not a big fan of fountainhead really, i thought the book lost its plot mid-way and became too philosophical preaching things, but roark made his markOK, i have no idea who this is. I am going to google him later and then get back to you.

Why do I like Mayank? hmmm...Cos Mayank and Nupur are so perfect together 😆 I love them both that way ...Abt MAyank, it has to be the way he is real, loves his mom, is studious, doesnt care much abt the world except for those he care for, is cool, sarcastic, falls hard for a girl who is his complete opposite and cant stop loving her..he is basically a nice guy with a normal guy's faults yet his love for her is always special ..not normal. I like that.

Basically I m not fond of guys who have no self respect and are outrageous flirts etc.. Even flirting should be done in style or not done at all.. Mayank is a one woman man, he still finds her attractive and cant take his eyes of her even now, now thats like a man I like :D

aahh, I m quite sane, except when it comes to these 2 😆 who make me insane and I love that 😆

@bones - Though am not well versed with the premise I'm assuming the guy will eventually break up with the new lady and go right back 😆 ..thats how it is in all stories isnt it 😆

Wonderful conversation. I owe you for all the laughs, but not those I snorted at and consequent embarrassment.

True, I tend to ask and then never reply to the same. My sister has stopped replying, holding her answers hostage until the ransom of my own answers are paid.

It is not that I don't want to share but I don't like the idea of things being written in stone. I am not fickle but it stems from knowing that I know nothing, that my knowledge encompasses a drop in the sea and so I could just be talking plankton!

Why do I love Mayank? In the specific, he embodies three of the four qualities I am looking for in a man, which I haven't ever shared for some things should be kept between you and your heart.

In the general as Divya said, it has a lot to do with his mother. For me that relationship adds that depth that elevates him above those other primal raw testosterone fueled indignant men I incline towards.

So what do you make of this moaning rumours roaming this forum about MJHT demise?

hmmm, maybe u r the quiz master ..never the participant.. Have u noticed..I love answering questions, while u love asking them 😆..so its perfect in a way and Teju is good at both, now that makes it just Right :D

I do agree somethings change not because u want it to., but it happens and some things are meant to be kept to ourselves! :) No worries...!! :)

Abt the rumours, I have decided to enjoy it while it lasts, I dont want a hurried wrap up...a loving conclusion would be good :)

divya, me too. i want to enjoy it while it lasts but looks like there will be a MN scene only during anniversaries, you think there will be a nupur's first i love you anniversary, i definitely hope it does. i am totally looking forward to a PBM anniversary though😉😆

sabah, i like why you love mayank, short reply but its sweet⭐️ mayank-mom relationship was one thing that always distinguished mayank from the angry-young man stereotype. it gave him a depth which others pitifully lacked👏👏. i am missing shilpa sharma terribly, i think her being occupied with other projects is the reason, but i really hope she comes back

i am kinda curious about those qualities, but some things should be kept to ourselves. i agree.

sabah, are you like upset that mjht might be ending? coz i hardly see you these days, not that you were a regular visitor before, but these days you seem pre-occupied. i will miss mjht too, god knows how much i missed MN when nupur was killed off, it was surprising really coz i was always a mayank fan more than nupur, but that period was really pathetic. i quit watching the show but it was always at the back of my mind, nupur was killed, MN story left incomplete & all i wanted was a happy ending. selfish as it seems, mayank-nupur-shilpa aunty are the only characters i care for, rest i dont care really. we all have a lot in common, like bones, x-files, fountain head and HP, but mjht is the only thing i loved enough to come & discuss in an online forum.

i will always cherish the fun i had watching the show & visiting forum (i know it sounds cheesy😆) if its ending , i would wish for a loving conclusion *aptly put divya👍🏼* and that is all there to it.
