• Tata demands another 40 lakh for machinery.
• Now, a typical workshop does NOT have more than 3, or at the most 4 lifts to work on the under body /chassis/ floorpan of the car.
• Typical authorized service center does NOT have more than 2 lifts.
• And these 2 lifts come at a typical price of 10 lakh each, making them a total of 20 lakh.
• Now, comes the worst part-tata says that you will ONLY use these materials from OUR recommended suppliers, who actually make cheaper machines than the quoted rates.
• rupees 20 lakh is your cost, another 20 lakh is again, tata's profit.
• And again, if you go vendor shopping and have vendor/supplier contacts, then these lifts work out to be even cheaper.
• again, daylight robbery.
• its because of the agreements between tata and its hundreds of thousands of vendors, who share profits ad margins at a given ratio.
