Yep Anu, I saw that episode. *snorts back smugly at Mash* :P
Among all the Bones episodes that I've seen so far, case-wise this was hands down the best one. Initially it started off as a typical case - the skeletons of two teenage boys were found buried under the ground. Things started to get interesting when they discussed how this Grave Digger person's mind worked. I also liked how they assured the boys' father that it wasn't his fault that the boys died. The Grave Digger messed up her own plan because he had enough oxygen to last ONE boy for 24 hours, but since he unwillingly had to put the second boy in there, the oxygen consumption doubled and air ran out in 12 hours - thus killing the boys anyway before the ransom deadline.
Then of course, came Brennan and Hodgin's kidnapping. The episode got really, really great after that! It was like solving a puzzle ... piece by piece everything fell into place.
I loved Brennan's conversation with Hodgins while they were buried. Nice how they talked about Hodgins' feelings for Angela and Brennan's faith in Booth - which she blatantly refused to acknowledge, lol. I loved how they tried everything under the sun to survive. Sending that quick text message, figuring out what chemical elements were in the dirt, puncturing a tire to release air, using perfume battery to create oxygen, triggering the air bag explosion ... am I forgetting something else? That was all so cool! And eeeks, the way she used a knife to perform "surgery" on his leg ... I shuddered at the mere thought of that happening to me! And I'm jealous of Angela. Why don't I have a filthy rich boyfriend who can buy me perfume that's worth thousands of dollars? *sigh* LOL!
Now coming to the rest of the team, I was impressed by the fact that everyone contributed to solving the mystery of Brennan and Hodgin's location. For the first time, the episode was not about catching the culprit. It was about rescuing the potential victims and that too, ones from the main cast. Now THIS is what I call an interesting case! It kept me on the edge of my seat from the moment the kidnapping took place.
Moving on to Booth and Brennan. Can I just EEEEEEEEEEEEE for a bit? I loved, loved, loved how Booth just ran blindly down the slope and straight toward the spot where the explosion took place. It was like he didn't care what the rest of the team was doing, didn't care that he was running to dig up two people ALONE and didn't care about anything on the planet. All that mattered at that moment was a person named Temperance Brennan. She was trapped, she was out of air and on the brink of death ... he had to get
his Bones out of that hell hole come what may! 😍😍😍 Even after he pulled her out, he didn't immediately look for Hodgins ... it was all about Brennan. I also loved his frustration and panicking after he received that text message. The last scene in the church was beautiful, as always. It was nice of Booth to thank God for saving their entire team because Brennan and Hodgins wouldn't have made it out alive if even
one member of the team was absent.
Something that I found really interesting were the God conversations between them. Booth is a believer while Brennan is an atheist. For the last couple of months or so, I've been reading up on the whole concept of religion v/s atheism and both points of view intrigue me. I personally believe that there
is a God out there and while atheism brings up valid points, not everything has to be scientifically proven in order for it to be real. Anyway, that's a different subject altogether. What was an "answered prayer" to Booth was just a set of "coincidences" to Brennan. It's nice that the writers have kept BnB's beliefs (or lack there of) so different.
Angela and Hodgins were so cute in this episode. She kissed him after he was rescued ... aww. I assume they hadn't exchanged I love yous at this point, had they? This seemed to be their falling in love / realization / self confession phase ... lol
Something that I didn't get was, how did Zack figure out exactly where Brennan and Hodgins were located just by the chemical elements in the dirt? For all you know, that could cover an entire town or province! 😕
And lastly - OMG, Booth was romantically involved with Cam at one point?!?!?!? 😲😲😲
