LOLL Mels, yeah Sidney Sheldon novels do have a lot of risque stuff in them to put it in LadyM's words....haha....but if I look beyond that, the twists are pretty interesting many times.....lol....

Btw if you want to read romance novels, then also you should be prepared for a lot of mushy risque stuff in them ;-) haha

You can try some Nora Roberts romances....those are good I think....and some of her older ones are quite simple and sweet....there's one book called "From this day"....it's a pretty cute love story...I think you might like it....or you can try any of her McGregor series books....it's got this main grandfather character who's always matchmaking his sons/daughters/grandson/granddaughters....LOL....it's pretty cute.

You want some book recommendations in horror/mystery/thriller?? For horror, try Stephen King....for mystery/thriller, you could try the Dan Brown books....I enjoyed those...or there's always Sidney Sheldon....lol....solid masaaledaar novels with tons of twists and turns.....Robert Ludlum's good too....Frederick Forsyth....you could try any of these authors, they've all written great action packed thrillers.

Thanks about the laptop ... and also thanks Mash ... I had looked over your comments earlier.

Wow, you know so much about books and authors! In fact not just you, but almost everyone in this CC does. I used to love reading until I discovered the internet and forums ... lol *shakes head*

I'll give some of those author's books a try. I really need to get back into leisure reading!

I knowww! Like WTF man. SG or MN or anyone else can crack the most ridiculous type of jokes and it's taken as humor. When we do that, it's taken as bashing and disrupting the peace of the forum. 🤔

Last week I saw someone saying that the creatives don't need to add "clowns" like Bakhtiyaar, Tanaz and Avni to MJHT. I sooooooo wanted to reply and say something like:

Very true, MJHT has already got so many clowns that they don't need more. Actually, the more clowns the merrier. So bring 'em on! 😛

And that's exactly why I am no Mills and Boons fan, nor do I read those 'youth' books😆. I am more into novels like P&P, North and South and stuffs like that. I do not mind mush stuffs waise, but Sidney Sheldon type of risque stuffs really doesn't make sense. He writes things in a really perverted way🤢

Okay, I will try the Nora Roberts books. Ummm...are the books available for downloading or should I buy them?

LMAO Sarah......you should have actually posted that. On second thoughts, after posting it, those chindi minded people would have replied to you with such ridiculous claims and all, that you would have felt a clown yourself. It's better to stay out of that place.

Poor Avni girl is bashed so brutally there and that's absolutely fine. If we go and say a word about MN or SG that doesn't involve fainting or dying or crying for ICU reservations, we somehow becomes bashers....lol.

And the justification provided for the Avni girl's bashing is that she is just a character ... toh bhai hum log kaunsa kisi actor ko bash kar rahe the. We just voiced our opinions about how lamely the characters of Mayank/Samrat/Nupur/Gunjan/etc were behaving. But no, that is a crime. *rolls eyes*

LOL yeah some of the stuff he writes is really disturbingly gross😕😕😕😆....but I think he's a good thriller writer otherwise cuz he knows how to weave in shocking twists...just storyline wise I mean....lol

What is North and South??😕😆.....Some M&B's were good at one point but these days they are all only about one thing and that's the main focus without any real storyline😆😆

I think Nora Roberts books are available for online reading somewhere....Mash might know....she was mentioning some site to LadyM I remember one day.....

@Sarah...exactly! But you see, in order to see that one apparently needs to be intellectually superior :P

@Anu...North and South is another novel like Pride and Prejudice. It is actually a bit more dramatic than P&P, and it's also somewhat tragic in terms of some aspects.

Okay, then I will try and google it up. As for Sidney Sheldon, I read five or six books of his. His most decent write-up is probably, the Naked Eye and Sky Is Falling. I liked the theme of Tell Me Your Dreams when I read it, but as usual the typical SS touch irritated me.

Sorry Sarah....I went to have dinner. I see Anu have already recommended you some good thrillers...Try one of these...I would say start with Dan Brown...

Waise romances aren't always fluffy.....I have read some non-fluffy good romantic books....But yes there's a bit of fluff here n there in some GOOD romance novels as well...If you want to read good romantic novels I'll recommend Nora Roberts. Recently toh she hasn't written anything that great but some of her early books are really great. There's this one book that I recommended to Lady M as well....'Born in fire' by NR....she liked it too. It's one of my favorite book

You can try that book I send you..the vampire one by NR...It has all the masala..socerers, witches, vampires, shapeshifters...It's thrilling....and of course romantic too with some smart, witty interactions.....PLUS a HOT bad-ass rude guy with a sharp tongue and bad temper😛.....NR's characters are fun!

@Mels: Ohhh so that's a classic literature novel too then?? Interesting....I actually haven't read a lot of classic literature...haha.....more mainstream fiction....

My fav. Sidney Sheldon book was 'If tomorrow comes' and yes 'tell me your dreams' was really good too.....the schizophrenia storyline and the twists in that were really interesting....actually this other book about three friends who are doctors was interesting too...but yeah, that too had the usual 'SS touch' as you are calling it....haha
