@ Gunia - awww saari jhappiyan swikar karti hoon, aur double karke waapis deti hoon 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 Like kya, I LOVE the new avi!!! It's really romantic and fairytale-ish and beautiful... kaash hamaare SiyaRam ke bhi aise scenes hote 😍 Really good observation regarding Sugreev as the first Chanoor, will post pics of the two of them and we'll confirm together. Yea, the 2nd one had a massive nose 😲 I'm not yet convinced it was real 😆 All I know is his voice they kept switching, kabhi Nand Baba aka Shahnawaz ki aawaz lagti thi, kabhi Akroor aka Pramod Kapoor ki 😆 Sita Navami sigs were really beautiful, love the way you filled the backgrounds with text - brilliant idea, keep rocking 👏👏👏👏👏

@ Deeps - awww assi wait kar rahe the kabse, for these punjabi classes... now you're back, sooo.... balle balle 😆 Thanks a bazillion for liking and using the Jatayu sig sweets, made my day... def getting the Maharaas one in my next slideshow, par ek se nahin chalega - make more!!! Esp from the Kans Vadh and post-Kans Vadh reunion updt I did, and Lali's new SiyaRam one!!! Jaldi jaldi 😆 j/k tak your time... but do make!

@ Shivang - pranaam bhaiya 🤗 really happy you understood and agreed with what I was trying to get at in the whole prem-bhakti post... understanding the atpatti bhasha of students is your specialty, so why wouldn't you 😆 Like you said, the point about bhakts lacking pride applies to full-fledged bhakts... given that the song describes bhakti as a river, we can think of it as a road - raaste par gaadiyan aur pair aage badhte hai, aur paane mein tairke yaan naav chalaake - and in that sense, we can infer that it's not stagnant - that aage badhna happens, and it's further out in the road/river that selflessness comes. Waise bhakton mein jo ahankaar aata hai, ke main sabse achha bhakt hoon, apne aap kaafi sundar cheez hai - baaki sab kehte hai "main sabse bada hoon", aur yeh kehta hai, "main sabse chhota hoon!" Like the Bharat-Lakshman faceoff - it's an endearing contest in which the one-upmanship is actually one-downmanship... "I'm SO humble that I always serve at Shri Ram's lotus feet!" "Well, I'm SO humble that I remain beneath his lotus feet!" Lolz that's my interpretation at least 😆 So, the pride a bhakt is subject to is not pride at all as we understand it - just like Prem from Krishna's point of view is different than ours, a bhakt's pride too is something totally unique and even endearing. So, anyways, glad we agree, and can't wait to discuss further!
As for Sugreev-as-Narsingh, now that you mention the posture thing, I too am 150% sure it's him - because THANK GOD no one else sits like that 😆 I've seen Sugreev's Rajyabhishek epi soooo many times cuz I love the song that comes right before Lakshman storms in to remind him of his promise, Raag Rang Chhaayo.... and every single time, I wince at his way of sitting 😆 Chanur ke before and after wale pics post karungi, woh bhi confirm ho jaayega. Glad to hear you're enjoying the Sudama epis, we're def going to have to discuss cuz they're among my favs - you'll love them! And you're not alone on liking Pinky as Rukmini - she's a huge favorite here at our CC! And.... thanks a million for liking the sig and sharing the Jatayu lyrics, you're the best 🤗 Ever heard Anup Jalota's bhajan "Ram katha mein veer Jatayu ka apna anupam isthaan"? It's really rare, my mom's fav, and one of only 2 of his that I actually enjoy. If you haven't, I'll share.

@ Lali - thanks a bazillion for the Lav Kush pic updt, very sweet pics that I wanna siggie-fy right away!!! And the Shabri sig was superb, touching, and really well made... used it last week, will prob bring it back soon... can't wait to see more 👏👏👏👏👏 And can';t thank you for the super adorable SiyaRam pic updt you did, I wanted these since forev... what a lovely scene, what an awesome dialogue, and they look soooooo sweet together 😍
😍😍😍😍 I've seen it several hundreds of times and still, every single time, I'm like awwwwwwwww look at thatttttt 😆 And such perfect timing, since our new DOTW is inspired by that scene!!! Thanks again 🤗

🥳🥳🥳🥳2nd DOTW🥳🥳🥳🥳

Thanks a bazillion for participating in the last one guys, it was enlightening and inspiring - you're all brilliant 👏 This time, the topic is really broad, so hopefully it'll last us a while. If possible, everyone should at least address it once within the next two pages so it doesn't get too spread out to follow. Enjoy!

Using the following scenes from RS's mythos as a point of departure, let's discuss the roles of men and women, and more specifically, husbands and wives as idealized (or discouraged) in Hindu culture at that time. How did the duties and expectations of each one differ, if at all? Did they ever come into conflict with any other duties for any particular character, and why? And most importantly, what lessons can we take from them and apply to modern times regarding social order, familial responsibilities, and their relationship to spiritual advancement?

The discussion can include but certainly isn't limited to the following scenes:

Shri Ram's first night speech and vow of monogamy 😍 (8:25)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOFkAphUGaA

Mata Sunayana's advice on being a good wife (starts at 5:10):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWDhl8Rxaf8
Maharaj Ugrasen's advice on being a good husband (4:35)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYlyi8tMi9A
Mandodari explains and exemplifies friend and minister aspect of wife's duties (5 minutes in, but watch all of it! It's brilliant!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2puFPnJavYU

Sita's response to Ram's attempt to send her home from Sumant, pre-Bharat Milaap (right from start)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgZU4q9Xl14
Devi Anusuya's speech for Sita (25 seconds in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TJHqCF4ZCE
Bharat and Mandavi discuss duties after Bharat Milaap (4 minutes in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHu4vYJVfks

Sunayana Maa's post-Bharat Milaap advice, esp listen on how she asks them to respect Kaikeyi and lead their husbands on the right path (3:20)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU-4cVz8l4E
Ram takes to a bed of grass after Sita's exile (4 minutes in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV2d0jX1Tt8
Sulochana demonstrate's wife's duty to be encouraging and courageous (right from start)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahe0mlynYKs
Sita serving Ram (45 seconds in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUCemYJ-LGE
Vasu serving Devaki (around 2:30)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9dF5PbIIVc
Sita's Pativrata self-defense (6 minutes in)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmq_QHhzXWw
Vasu upholds husband's duty after Akashwani (4:50)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RfaDuuJmAc
Continuation of above, Vasu affirms equality of husband and wife (1:30)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jsh7vimT3U
Praja realizes Ram's respect for Sita (and that they should replicate with their wives) after golden statue decision is announced (7:30)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t-_p8qYM0A
Continuation of above, a certain family interprets this statue decision as Ram's empowerment of women in general (right from start)

Okay Guys, we had a superb time with our super duper Lolakshi on the spotlight for the past two weeks (much more actually😆)! We learned many new things about her and got to know her better thanks to her very insightful and meaningful explanations to every single one of our questions! So a very BIG thanks to Lola for making the time spent grilling her so enjoyable!🤗 Thank you so much Loli, we hope you had as great of a time as we did!😃 We wuv you!

Our 3rd Bhakt in the Spotlight will be....
🥳Dancingaishi.muffin!Dancing🥳
Congrats Aish! Here is your BitS siggie to use while you're in the spotlight so that everyone knows you're our BitS!😛 Please do use it for the two weeks you will be on the hot seat, so that everyone all over IF knows about the special honor bestowed on you.😉 If not for two weeks, please at least use it for a week.
So get ready for a busy fortnight Ashu!😉
Here are my first set of questions for you!
1. Who is your favorite actor in RS's Ramayan & Shri Krishna?
2. Favorite actress?
3. Favorite Vanar?
4. Favorite Rakshas?
5. Which of the Rajmata actresses do you think did best?
6. Do you imagine any of these actors/actresses as their onscreen counterparts? If so, which ones? (for example, seeing Dara Singh as the real Hanuman.)
7. Did you see Ramayan in its original telecast more than 20 years ago? How about Shri Krishna? If so, how was the experience. If not, when did you see the serials and how?
8. What is your favorite scene in the Ramayan and Shri Krishna serials (choose only one from both, as hard as it is!)?
9. Which scene do you think they could have filmed better in both serials?
10. Were you disappointed with any of the actors/actresses and wished the Sagars could have chosen better ones? If so, which ones?
11. Would you call yourself an obsessed fan or a moderate one?
12. If you could spend one day with an actor from either Ramayan or Shri Krishna, who would it be and how would you spend the day?
13. Which of today's New Mythos do you like best and why? Is it because of the actors, storyline, settings? Basically, which factor most often makes you like any particular mytho, and same for this one?
14. When you watch the new mythos today, do you unconsciously compare them with their old classic counterparts or do you view them with an unbiased air?
15. Do you like any actor/actress from any of today's mythos more than you liked a particular actor/actress from the old ones? If so, who and why? (You can be completely honest, don't worry😉😆.)
Will be back with more questions for sure!👍🏼 Enjoy your fortnight!

Pranaam behena.🤗 You are the best. 🤗 Itna zabardast concept samjhaya hua kaise nahi samajh sakta tha? 😊 Samjhaanewale ka explanation power hi aisa tha ki understanding me to kuchh khas baaki hi nahi bacha tha. And yes. Ego of bhakt is too subtle and it helps him to increase his devotion in absolute terms. Still it is bad if it leads him to jealousy of another bhakt like it is shown in Satyabhama episodes. If that ego is not that subtle like it was in case of Naradji finding Golok but it is very grossly significant, it might lead to social misbehaviour or rudeness of beginner devotee with non-devotees. Like the song line "Aur tumhaare bhaktjano me hamse badhkar kaun?" Such bhakt might start believing himself to be a man superior than others because he is devotee. This is dangerous. However, it is another thing that God will not allow ego to remain in devotee for long and true devotees can't have like an ordinary man that ego beyond temporary subtle ego. I agree.

And I was sure that you would confirm about Sugreev actor. Enjoying everything you do on CC. You have finally started the intended DOTW with such a marathon effort of list of video links provided. 👏 Superb!!! Usme ek aur bhi add kiya ja sakta hai. Convo between Ram-Kaushalya and Ram-Sita just before leaving for vanvaas - the scene in which Sumitra orders Lakshman to go to the great happiness of Lakshman. Urmila's duty vs Sita's duty can be a great subtopic of debate in this initiative of yours.

Aur haan. Wo Anup Jhalota song ki first line zaroor suni hai. I can sing it with total memory of tune.
Par bas lagta hai ki mukhda hi suna hai.😊 Aage ka kuchh yaad nahi ya pata nahi.

@Gunia

Jai Shri Krishna behena. Great background and color choice in Kevat siggie. Eye catching and very very attractive to watch. 👏
