Paulo's writing is surreal even for Portuguese speakers. I have it on good authority now... My wife-to-be speaks Spanish (practically like her mother tongue), and has a good grasp of written Portuguese; and she just confirmed the surrealism of the writing style to me once again... The English translation has preserved the manner of writing, though my source is too uninspired to read both the manuscripts again for a detailed review... 😛
