I was thinking that we stick with the Alchemist until next week, by which time, people might begin reading the new book...
In any case, the CC rules mandate that a thread will have to be closed at 150 pages; so we still have another 60 pages to talk THE ALCHEMIST through...

(P.S. I love the chatter, but it'll be nice if we mention the book once or twice... It'll feel like there is some purpose behind all the chatting... 😛)

I am not sure if we can digest another 60 pages on Alchemist, with the weekend almost winding off...the activity would reduce considerably...
My suggestion - we should continue Alchemist for a week more, take a break for a week and discuss lighter articles and current affairs...complete our 150 pages and begin the new book with a fresh thread!

Yeah... that was the point. We've dealt with The Alchemist already, but we can wait for any more qualifying remarks on the subject. My newest recruit will be showing up in the next week, and she isn't the eager-to-read-the-alchemist type, so we'll have plenty of things to talk about.
My only request is that after every few pages, if people just say: "We should be discussing the Alchemist", without actually bothering to do so, we'll justify the title of our reading group. 😛😆😆

Is the guardian and defender of these hallowed grounds,the nightmare of unsuspecting recruits and the upholder of order and harmony.

Santiago awoke under the light of a moon-beam
'Coz hidden treasures he had seen in a dream...

Uncertain about leaving Andulasia and crossing the shore
