And I will give my take on "the Alchemist".
Its a book which made me believe (for a short while atleast )that the universe would conspire to give me what I want............
The Universe did Conspire.......to give me a reality check.

Can someone give me the author's name for Alchemist?It seems there is more than one with that title!Thanks

Not yet. We have to wait for the voting to be complete... and then take a small break to buy/DL the book, but we can discuss the hype around the chosen book while everybody procures it and is ready for a discussion.

Another thing that we need to discuss is whether we do this in a scholarly manner (with guided discussion questions), or whether we just walk straight to wherever we wish to go? I favour the latter alternative, but let us hear what you guys would like! ☯️

The reality check was that you have to make an effort in that direction! 😛 Then it works... to a certain degree!

Here is a question from a reading group guide:

Paulo Coelho once said that alchemy is all about pursuing our spiritual quest in the physical world as it was given to us. It is the art of transmuting the reality into something sacred, of mixing the sacred and the profane. With this in mind, can you define your Personal Legend? At what time in your life were you first able to act on it? What was your "beginner's luck"? Did anything prevent you from following it to conclusion? Having read The Alchemist, do you know what inner resources you need to continue the journey?

I think I prefer the second option.
