Small Siggie Update: All four are the same but with the Sitaji pics/font different....such a sad scene.😭

Whenever I read about Dobby's sacrifice in Harry Potter, it always brings to mind our noble Jatayu.😭 I am sure JKR has to have based Dobby's character off of Jatayu, because she said she based some of her characters off of mythologies of all cultures.

To those who haven't read HP: Dobby was a house-elf who gave up his life to save Harry Potter when Bellatrix Lestrange, an evil witch on the side of Voldemort, aims her knife at Harry's back. Dobby moves himself in front of Harry and takes the blow, which kills him. One of the many sad deaths in the 7th book.😭

And here's a vid sig...the text means 'His (Krishna) divine consort's lips are like coral (pagadam)'. I know by itself, the text may seem a bit strange, but the song "Muddugaare Yashoda" describes in every stanza how each person associated with Shri Krishna is like a different kind of gem, and this line is about Rukmini Devi.

Yeah, Jatayu did not hesitate once in laying down his life for Sitaji, whom he thought of as his own daughter-in-law. Truly he is one of the most noble souls to have lived. Like Ramji said, he deserved the highest place in heaven, because he did what most humans would have hesitated to do.😊

Rukminiji was not describing Krishna. This song was written by Shri Annamacharya, a great devotee of Shri Krishna, and he was describing Rukminiji, one of the most beloved consorts of Lord Krishna, in this song.😊

Agree 100% with everything you said.👏 The makeup for Draupadi was a big put off, but the songs really made up for it. Ravindra Jain's compositions with Kavita Krishnamurthy's voice made us forget the mediocre actors they chose for the Pandavas and Kauravas.

Though Roopa Ganguly was a superb choice for Draupadi, I felt she was lacking in showing the softer sweeter side of the character. At times when it was necessary for Draupadi to be gentle, she acted too out-spoken, and in those times Falguni did well. But no one has every done the Cheer Haran scene with the grace Roopa did.👏 Image this song with BRC's Cheer Haran scene....would have been perfect!⭐️[/quote]

Soja Lalla was longer than the normal youtube version (got it off my own youtube vid, with the lead-in and follow-up scenes included) because it includes the instrumental alaap between when she sings the first line slowly and then when he appears and it actually starts - it's an extra minute and a half of really haunting beautiful flute and sarod music, to which she's as usual heartbreaking while she looks longingly at the blanket, and somehow the baby is doing his expressions with the same accuracy 😲 I was good, huh 😉
Btw any issues with the sound quality? I'll try to clean it up and re-upload soon.

Yaay thanks for updating the lyrics directory, def helps when siggy-fying... like when you do a stunner combo update off the lullabies!

And yay that we agree on all the other stuff too! Roopa was beyond perfection in the cheer haran and aftermath dialogues; no one could match her intensity without seeming theatrical and cheesy... but her discomfort in the wooing Keechak scene after nainon ke darpan came to mind cuz I recently rewatched those agyaat-vaas epis when they're in the Matsya kingdom - can never get enough of Arjun's kathak 🤣 - and noticed how she was using her I-have-a-point women's lib voice while flirting 😕 Of course, poor Falguni had no I-have-a-point voice at all, which was essential to the character... so thank God for Ravindra Jain's magical music, which made up for her weakness... that song has enough feeling that you don't even need anything onscreen to understand Draupadi's desperation... kinda like in JSK, when I had said they used all that music in Krishna's reunion scene with his parents cuz they didn't trust the actress with intense dialogue... music saves the day!

Wowwwzzz all the new sigs are AMAZING Lallikins... I am scooping the Jatayu for sure, am still confused about what to include in my new siggie display since things are back to normal, but that ones making the cut for sure... thanks for another tribute to another favorite character 😭😭😭 He's my mom's fav character too, she cries every single time that scene comes.... and her fav bhajan is Anup Jalota's "Ram Katha Mein Veer Jatayu", a very popular ghazal-ish one that means "In the story of Shri Ram, brave Jatayu has his own special place" and goes on to explain how much Ramji loved and respected him. So, if I showed her it, she'd love this siggie too! Lol easy Christmas gift, thank you Lali 🤗

And the others are also gorgeous, the SiyaRam one I love esp cuz her pre-vanaas pink and yellow outfit's one of my favs (I have bought a clone/reminder ghagra choli version of it too 😳)... and she looks so young and naive in that scene! And the Rukmini one is also lovely! Quote is awesome, would love the whole lyrics explanation when you have time, sounds like a beautiful, imagery-rich composition... and yea, Pinky really was beautiful and expressive! Will def do some pics, maybe later tonight... she had that innocent, simple, devotional look going which fits Rukmini Devi's chill personality perfectly... btw doesn't prettied-up Kubja look like it's her before she was chosen as Rukminiji (esp at 1:27)? Maybe she was RS's pick after all?
